Be it known that I, DANIEL EBERHART, 'ot'. New Pittsburg, in the county of -Wayne', and in the State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in SparkTArrestersg-and do hereby declare that the) following is -a fuli,c lear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

.The nature-of myinvention consists in the construction of 'a' device to he placed on top of a chimney, stove-- p'ipe, smoke-stack, or wherever smoke and sparks moy come out, to prevent sparks from escaping, thereby lessening the danger of any accident by fire. vl To enable others skilled in Ytlreart to make and use my'invention, I will now proceed to )describe its construction andoperation, referringto theanneired drawings, which form Vs. part of this specification, and

e From the upper edge of this box, a rim or o'set, B, extends o n allV sides. This rim is the same width as the chimney, and there ber-xt upward, as shown in fig. 1. The sides of the rim thus bent upward vare provided v with ears C C, extending downward, which are to be fastened on the outside of the chimney, thereby holding the spark-arrester in its place. l

The inside spark-catcher D is secured to the inner side of' the rim B, and is made of wire, extending upwardand inward on all sides, joining together at the top.

At the corners-.of the rim B are upright posts E'E, to which wire is also'secured, in such e. manner ast-o form an outside sparkeatcher,F, the whole being covered by the roof G. 'l

This spark-arrester muy he made round to suit stove-pipes, or in `any shape and size desired.
