Be it known that we,JouN STOCK and JACOB Srock, of New York, in the county and State of New York,

have invented a neu and useful Barbers Chair, and We do-liereby declare that the followingv is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to vtbe letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of this invention consists in the arrangement of making the buck of the chair in two parts,the lower part of-whicb is stationery, while the upper partis hinged on, and is made movable, end provided with a.' suitable rack to place and {x this said upper part in any desirable nnd'most' ,Convenient position.

A represents an arm-chair, having the back, D, and tlie'arms C C made of even height.l Upon this back, B, n second back, D, is fitted, hinged upon the arms at n n, capable of being` moved upwardsinto a-ny desired position. What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The movable back D, hinged to the stationary back D of a barbors chair, arranged with suitable mechanism to fix this movable back D in any desired position, in the manner and for' the purpose substantially es set forth.
