To all whom it may concern.-

' Be it known that I, ABRAHAM HERTJE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Tonkawa, in the county of Kay and Territory of Oklahoma, have invented a new and Improved Binder-Cover, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of this invention is to provide a structure affording a complete and eifective cover for grain-binding machines. instances these machines are necessarily continually exposed to the elements and rapidly deteriorate by reason thereof. By means of my invention, however, they may be conveniently and efiectively covered and protected from any deleterious exposure.

This specification is an exact description of one example of my invention, while the claims define the actual scope thereof.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

Figure 1 is a sectional view showing my invent-ion in operative position and indicating by dotted lines the relative position of the binder. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the cover itself, and Fig. 3 is a detail sectional view on the line 3 3 in Fig. 1.

The cover is constructed, preferably, of sheet metal, although other materials may be employed, if desired, and it comprises a sloping top wall a with outer and inner side walls 6 and c and front and rear end walls (Z and 6. At its free or outer end the cover it is provided with a longitudinally-extended coversection 70, which is arranged to set over and protect the grain-Wheel and divider-board.

This cover-section k is constructed in the form of an inverted channel or trough and arranged to rest securely over the divider-board and grain-wheel. The manner of using the invention will be fully understood from the foregoing description, and it will be seen that the'described construction provides a thorough efiective cover for the entire machine, protecting the same as fully as though it were housed.

Various changes in the form, proportions, and minor details of gny invention maybe resorted to at will without departing from the spirit and scope thereof. Hence I consider myself entitled to all such variations as may lie within the intent of my claims.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A cover for grain-binders, comprising a box-like inclosure for the body of the binder, an outwardly-extending section covering the platform, and a third cover-section open at its lower side to inclose the grain-wheel and divider-board and mounted on the outer end of. the platform-section. Y

2. A binder-cover, comprising an inclosure capable of covering the body of the binder, and a platform-section lying over the platform and having an upward extension projected into the first-named section and hing edly mounted therein.

3. A binder-cover, comprising a casing capable of inclosing the body of the binder, a platform-section extending out horizontally therefrom, and an inverted channel-shaped section attached to the outer end of the platform-section and inclosing the divider-board and grain-wheel.

A binder-cover, comprising a casing capable of inclosing the body of the binder, a platform-section extending out horizontally therefrom, and an inverted channel-shaped section attached to the outer end of the plat form-section and inclosing the divider-board and grain-wheel, the said platform-section being hingedly mounted on the body-section.

5. A binder-cover, comprising a casing capable of inclosing the body of the binder, a platform-section extending out horizontally therefrom, an inverted channel-shaped section attached to the outer end of the platformsection and inclosing the divider-board and grain-wheel, the said platform-section having an upward extension projected into the bodysection, and a tie-rod extending through the body-section and having said upward extensection having downwardly-extended flanges.
