LYGURGUS H. M'OSELEY, OF RAN KL N, TENNESSEE} Letters Patent m. 74,118, dated February 4,1868.
IMPROVED OINTMENT.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY acumen:
Be it known that I, LYGURGUS H. MOSELEY, of Franklin, in the county of VViIliaimson, in the State of Tennessee, have invented a. ne\v and improved Pile-Ointment; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, sufficient to enable one skilled in the art to which it appertains to compound anduse the same.
This invention is a. compound which, when properly applied, works a -speedy and infallible cure of the 'disease known as the piles.
In order to make one-gallon of the ointment, which is the subject of this application, I take four ounces of str'amonium, sixteen ounces of iock or ice-plant, sixteen ounces of ten or Spanish-och bark, sixteen ounces of dogwood-root bark sixteen ounces of earth-worms, two ounces of sweet oil, half ugcllon of Venice turpentine, half egallon of linseed oil, and one quart of neats-foot oil.
These substances, compounded in the above proportions, are boiled down until the quantity equals one gallon. The medicine is applied to the diseased part of the system until the evil is eradicated.
Having thus described my invention, WhntI claim therein as new, nnd'desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

To the above specification of my improvement, I havesigned my hand, this fifth day of November, 1867.
