SHOW-TRAY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 690,399, dated January '7, 1902 Application led March 30,1901. Serial No. 53,627. (Nodmodel.)
To all whoml t may concern:
Be it known that I, THADDEUS S. CoFFIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Revere, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Show-Trays; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art 1o to which it appertains to make and use the zo taken on line :n in Fig. l.
B is a rack arranged in the tray and pro.
vided With a facing-plate b of celluloid or other similar ornamental material. The rack consists of parallel bars held in position by cross-pieces c and havin g beveled edges c' on 3o their under sides.
D represents spring-loops of Celluloid or other similar material secured to the under sides of the parallel bars and projecting at the front of the rack through narrow-slits Z9' in the facing-plate.
E represents Wedge-plates secured between the bars and pressing the spring-loops against the beveled edges c. The beveled edges o/ determine the angle of inclination of the spring-loops, and the spring-loops are arranged opposite each other in pairs. The articles to be exhibited are held between the pairs of spring-loops- In the upper part of Fig. l loops D are shown, which are spaced farther apart than the loops D, so as to hold Watches. The loops D are secured to the rack in the same man ner as the` loops D; but the wedge-shaped plates E', which hold them in position, are square instead of being oblong, like the plates E. Plates c2 are also used to hold the Wedgeshaped platesE in position; but any approved means may be used for securing either form of wedge-plate E or E.
What I claim is- The combination, With a rack provided ing-plate having slits in it; of inclined springloops secured to the bars in pairs and projecting through the said slits, and Wedgeplates holding the said loops against the said beveled edges, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
