Beit known that I, ISAAC O.NISSLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Middletown, in the county of Dauphin and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The invention relates to a game apparatus.

The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which shall be simple of construction and one which may be placed upon the market at a small cost and prove entertaining` to both young and old.

Y/Vith this and other objects in view the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combination of parts, which will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective View of my improved game apparatus. Fig. 2 is a top plan view, and Fig. 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view.

Referring to the drawings, l denotes a tray or box, shown in the present instance as rectangular and provided with a transparent cover 2. Secured within this box to the base thereof are two pens 3 and 4, the entrances 3 and 4, respectively, being arranged at opposite points. Extending longitudinally the length of the box are baffle-plates 5, 6, 7, and 8. The plates 5 and 6 are of angular construction, and the plates 7 and 8 project from the ends of the box or tray upwardly at an acute angle thereto. Between the ends of the plates 5, 6, 7, and 8 are formed spaces or openings 9, l0, and ll. The spaces 9 and l1 are in a direct line with the pens 3 and 4, while the space l0 is arranged between said pens.

l2 denotes movable bodies, preferably in the form of spheres, and 13 denotes a movable body, preferably in the form of a sphere of greater diameter than the spheres 12. Any number of each size of spheres ymay be used; but I prefer to use one large sphere and sixteen small spheres.

The object of the game is to get the small spheres in the pen 4 and the large sphere in the pen 3 by the manipulation of the box.

Much skill is required to place the spheres in their respective pens, for in tilting the box to remove the spheres from the pockets formed by the angular baffle-plates the tendency is, if there be some spheres in the pens, to allow the spheres to escape from those pens. Again, if the player has succeeded in rolling all of the small spheres in the pen 4, in his attempt to roll the sphere 13v in the pen 3 he must necessarily tilt the box slightly in order to get the spheres to roll in the pen 3, and in so doing the chances are that the spheres in the pen 4 will roll out.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction, operation, and advantages of my invention will be readily understood without requiring an extended explanation.

The device is exceedingly useful for the purpose for which it is designed and may be placed upon the market at a comparatively small cost.

Various changes in the form, proportion, and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle-or sacrificing any .of the advantages of this invention.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A game apparatus comprising a box or tray, pens arranged therein and provided with entrance-openings, the opening of one pen being diametrically opposite the other and of greater area, angular baffle-plates arranged -in a horizontal row to one side of a straight line drawn between said plates and the pens and spaced apart to form openings or passages between them, said plates being ar ranged so as to form pockets having inclined walls, and movable bodies of dierent diameters, substantially as set forth.
