SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 601,279, dated March 29, 1898.
Application filed December 18, 1896. Serial No. 616,230. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN W. RAPP, of New York, N. Y. have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention embraces a bracket constructed of sheet metal.
I will describe a bracket embodying my improvement, and then point out its novelty in the claims.-
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a portion'of the bracket, showing in Fig. 2, but more fully described in Patent No. 557,147, granted to me .March 31, 1896. A triangular section a isthen removed from the bar (marked A in the drawings) and the two portions a a bent to form an angle with each other. The two portions when so related form the legs of the bracket, which may be provided with a strengthening-plate or gusset a. at the angle. r

If desired, ornamental plates 0 may be secured to the sides of the bracket, and the legs or members of the bracket may terminate in end pieces B.
Having described my invention, what I con: sider as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A bracket comprising members .formed of sheet metal, bent, pressed, or otherwise shaped to the form of a T-bar, slots formed in the web portion of the T-bar bracket members, and a brace passing through the slots and secured to the web of the T-bar members, substantially as specified.
2. A bracket comprising members, formed of sheet metal bent, pressed, or otherwise shaped to the form of a T-bar, in combination with side plates, substantially as specified.
3. A bracket comprising members, formed of sheet metal bent, pressed, or otherwise shaped to the form of a T-bar, in combination with a brace, and side plates, substantially as specified.
