Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OEEICEc W. GILLETT AND W. S. GILLETT, OF STOWE, VERMONT.

The nature of our invention consists in the combination and arrangement of an inclined (nearly vertical) perforated board, permanently attached to side pieces, with a lever and movable perforated pressing-board, both boards being connected at their lower edges by strong wrought-iron strap-hin ges, (to resist pressnre,) the wringer being fastened to a bucket or tub (containing hot water) by uprightscrew-rods fastened permanently to a foot-board.
A represents the pail or tub B, the wringer on top, formed of two side pieces, B B, and the upright center board, perforated. D D are the wrought-iron straphinges, permanently fastened to the center board, (l, and to the pressingboard E, the press-board E being also perfo rated and corresponding in size with the center board, C, and operated by an upright lever, G. H a-re stay-rods iirmly fastened to the foot-board J.
The lever G is operated in an upright position. The inop being placed between the perforated boards G and E, the operator is enabled to stand erect and squeeze the mop, saving' the severe labor that the Women undergo when wringing the mop with the hands.
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The arrangement and combination of the hinged perforated boards-O and E, when constructed with the side boards, B B, stays H, and foot-board J operated by the lever G, as herein described, and for the purposes set forth.
