In the accompanying drawings, Figure l exhibits a front view of a supporting device embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a back view of the same; and Fig. 3 is a section on line 3 3, Figs. l and 2, looking in the direction ofthe arrow. 1
Referring to the drawings, 5 designates the body portion of a preferred construction of device embodying my invention, said body portion ,upon its rear side, and centrally thereof, being provided with a rearwardly-projecting point 6 for the purpose of attaching the device to a wall, and the body portion, upon its forward side, is provided with a tongue or sti member 7, projecting from the edge of the device and projecting inwardly over and arranged radially of the front side of the device. Member 7 possesses sufficient elasticity or springiness to render it capable of pressing against the body portion of the device an article inserted between said member 7 and the forward side of the body portion of the device. y
The body portion of the device is preferably made of two pieces of sheet metal, one, 8, of which pieces is arranged at the rear of the other, and point 6 is formed upon the rearward piece. Member 7 is formed upon the forward piece 9, and the latter is provided with any suitable number of arms 10, projecting from the edge of piece 9 at diiferent points, respectively, andI bent over the edge of and clenched upon the back side of the point-bearing piece.
What I claim is- A supporting device of the character indicated, comprising two pieces of sheet metal 8 and 9 arranged the one 8 at the rear of the other, the rearward piece being provided with a rearwardly-proj ecting point and the forward piece being provided with means instrue mental in supporting the article to be held or supported and being provided with any suitable'number of arms l0 projecting from the edge of the piece and bent over the edge and clenched upon the back side of the pointbearing piece, substantially as shown, for the purpose specified.
