Be it known that we, JAMES W. ANDERSON and RICHARD S. TWIsS, citizens of the United States, residing at Elwood, in the county of Clinton and State of Iowa, have invented a certain new, useful, and valuable Improvemcnt in Gombination Separable Breast-Straps and Neck-Yoke Supports, of which the fol lowing is a full, clear, and exact description. Our invention has relation to combination separable breast straps and neck yoke supports, and it consists in the novel arrangement of its parts as hereinafter described.

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1, is a perspective view of the breast strap and neck yoke support and attachments. Fig. 2, is a bottom view of the neck yoke support. Fig. 3, is a perspective view of the two members of the neck yoke support. Fig. 4, is a longitudinal sectional view of the two members of the neck yoke support.

The two sides of the breast strap 1, are con-' nected to each other at the point 2, by means of the hook and eye as shown in Fig. 1. The back of the joint is provided with the leather flap 3, which prevents the joint from chafing the breast of the animal.

The shoulder strap 4., connects the two sides of the breast strap in the ordinary manner.

The neck yoke support consists of two members 5, and 6. The inner end of the member 6, is hollow, and has a longitudinal open side said opening leading into said hollow. A cross rod 7, is located in said hollow. The member 5, consists of a solid rod having a hooked end 8. The member 5, is adapted to fit snugly in the hollow member 6, the hooked end 8, passing around the cross rod 7. The under side of the men1ber 5, is pro- 7 vided with a staple 9. When the two members are engaged the said staple 9, isin the A strap 10, connects When the two members are engaged they form a rigid cross bar extending across the breast of the animal, and in front of the breast strap. The'rearends of the members are provided with suitable eyes, which are connected by means of straps 12, 12, with the breast strap. The upper side of each member is provided with an eyeor staple, which are connected by means of the branches or straps 13,13, with the shoulder. strap 4.

Thus it will be seen that we form aharness that is separable in front and at the same time we have a rigid yet separable neck yoke support.

The weight of the neck yoke bearing down on the staple 9, will keep the two members of the support together.
