Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LEWIS STROBER, OF JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY.
IMPROVED OINTMENT.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 51,099, dated November 21, 1865.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEWIS STROBER, of Jersey City, Hudson county, State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Ointment for Piles; and 1. do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to fully understand and use the same.
This invention relates to a composition of the simplest kind, which can be prepared in a few minutes, and the effect of which, in curing piles, is really surprising.
My invention consists simply of lard and sand, which are mixed together in the following proportion: lard, five parts; sand. five parts. This proportion may, however, be i changed, according to circumstances, and in some cases the proportion of sand will be mcrcased, whereas in other cases it is diminislied.
The sand must he passed through a fine sieve before it is mixed with the lard, and in order to mix the two evenly and uniformly together the lard may be melted and the sand stirred in while the same is cooling, or the sand may be mixed with the lard in a cold state. The effect of the sand on the piles is such that the same are cured after a short time.
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The within-described ointment for piles, composed and mixed substantially as set' forth.
LEWVIS STROBER.
