IMPROVED ARTIFICIAL FUEL.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 50,588, dated October 24, 12565.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL D. HOVEY, of Chicago, (look county, in the State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Aggregating Coal-Dust and all combustible substances which can be ilnprow ed by aggregation; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same.
screenings or any combustible, one hundred parts. I then agitate this mixture, and then press it into cakes the desired size and form. I then allow it to thoroughly dry, and it is ready for use. By this combination I am enabled to utilize coal-dust or any other similar combustible.
The coal-dust can be obtained in coal-mines and coal-yards at atrifling expense, and the fuel produced according to my invention gives out a good heat and leaves comparatively little ashes or cinders.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The production of artificial fuel out of any combustible substance which can be improved by aggregation by combining the same with glue, substantially in the manner and about in the proportion set forth.
