Description

(No Model.)
. A. PETERSON. PERPORATED SHEET 0R PLATE FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. No. 489,568. Patented Jan. 10, 1893.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALEXANDER PETERSON, OF BERLIN, GERMANY.
PERFORATED SHEET OR PLATE FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 489,568, dated January 10, 1893.
Application filed June 13, 1892. Serial No. 436,635. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALEXANDER PETERSON, a subject of the Emperor of Russia, and a resident of Berlin, in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Perforated Strips and Plates for Musical Instruments, of which the following is a full and exact specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which serves to illustrate my invention.
My invention relates to perforated strips and plates for musical instruments, and consists in making the said strips and plates of celluloid, whereas hitherto the same were made of metal or card-board.
My improved perforated strips and plates are unsurpassed as to durability, they always present a completely smooth surface and the perforations are easily made at the exact place and of any shape required. The shape of the strips and plates themselves may also be varied considerably. The edges of the perforations remain sharp, and the form of the same is not altered, even when the strips or plates 25 have been used a very long time.
In the accompanying drawing I have shown,
by way of illustration, a perforated disk of the kind, commonly used for music-boxes, but I Wish to have it understood, that my invention 30 specification in the presence of two subscrib- 4o ing witnesses.
ALEXANDER PETERSON.
