UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES C. KROUSE, HARRY E. MYERS, AND CHARLES L. GIRARD, OF VVILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA.
SUSPENDER-END.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 478,337, dated July 5, 1892.
Application filed October 6, 1891. Serial No. 407.917. (N0 model.)
T0 at whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, CHARLES C. KROUSE, HARRY E. MYERS, and CHARLES L. GIRARD, citizens of the United States, residing at Williamsport, in the count-y of Lycoming and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspender- Ends, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to an improvement in Suspender-ends, and its novelty will be fully understood from the following description and claim, when taken in connection with the annexed drawings; and the object of the invention is to provide a Suspender-end and drawer-supporter all in one piece.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure 1 shows a strip of fabric material in, position to be secured together. Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the fabric folded upon itself, so as to form the buttonhole-loops and the drawers-supporter.
The same letters of reference denote the same parts in both figures.
A refers to the main portion of the suspender-end, which is formed of any fabric material. The portion B is folded and sewed to the portion A, so as to form the buttonhole-loop C. The other portion D is folded so as to form the other but-tonhole-loop E and to leave an end nearly the length of the portion B. More than half of the portion D is sewed to the main portion A, which brings the said portion D up to the extreme end of the portion B, where the means of securing the said portion ends and leaves a free portion F of-just one-half the width of the suspender-end hanging free therefrom, to which is attached a clamp G of any suitable construction, so as to form a drawer-supporter.
It will be observed that by forming the drawers-supporter in one and the same piece with the snspender-endno seam is necessary at the intersection of the drawers-supporter and said Suspender-end and the liability of the drawers-supporter becoming detached therefrom by ripping or tearing is entirelyobviated.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new,and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A Suspender-end made from a single piece of material doubled from each end to the center, the two branches sewed together to form buttonholes C and E at each of said ends, the piece continued from the center, so as to form the central depending supporter F, substantially as set forth.
In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands in the presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES C. KROUSE. HARRY E. MYERS.
. CHARLES L. GIRARD.
