GAS-BRACKET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 442,523, dated December 9, 1890.

To all whom, t may concern,.-

Be it known that I, FRIEDRICH HINKEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Gas-Brackets, of which the following isa specieation.

This invention relates to an improvement in gas-brackets; and by means of this invention a gas-bracket is obtained which can be readily adj usted and fixed in any desired position, as set forth in the following specification and claims, and illustrated in the annexed drawings, in Which- Figure lis a side elevation of a gas-bracket containing my invention. In the drawings, the letter A indicates a gas tube or pipe extendingtrom the wall and having stop-cock B. To the tube A is connected a small tubular pivot C, carrying a limb D, which is connected to the pivot C by a pivot E, located horizontally at right angles to the latter. The pivot C allows the limb to be horizontally adj usted, and the pivot E allows vertical or up and down adjustment of said limb. To the pivot E is connecteda flange F, having a segmental slot G. Said slot is circularly arranged about the pivot E. A set-screw II passes through the slot G and enters the tapped slide I, which can move or slide in the standard K, which is secured to the pivot C. The standard K guides the slide in its movements, and the movements of the slide compensate for any eccentricity of the slot G. Asecond limb L is shown secured to the limb D in the same manner that the limb D is secured to the tube A. The limb Fig. (i is a section along .2'

L is shown provided with a burner M. lVhen the screws H II are loosened, the limbs D L can be adjusted vertically to any required position and then fixed by tightening said screws. At the same time the pivots C C allow the limbs D L to be horizontally moved until the burner is in the required spot.

That I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

l. The combination, with the wall tube or pipe A, having` the vertical pivot C, provided with the standard K, of the tubular limb D, the horizontal pivot E, arranged at right angles to the said vertical pivot, connecting the limb with the latter, and provided with an attached flange F, having a segmental slot G concentric with said horizontal pivot, a movable slide I, guided by the standard on the vertical pivot, and the set-screw H, passing through the segmental lslot and engaging the slide, substantially as and for the purposes described.

2. A gasbracket consisting of the wall tube or pipe A, having the vertical pivot C, provided with the standard K, the limb D, the horizontal pivot E, arranged at right angles to and connecting the limb with the vertical pivot, and provided with a vertical ange F, having a segmental slot G concentric with said horizontal pivot, a slide I, moving in the standard between the latter and the slotted iian ge, and the set-screw I-I, extending through the segmental slot of the liange and engaging the slide to clamp the latter against the slotted flange, substantially as described.
