To enable others skilled in the art to make, use, and construct my. invention. I will proceed to describe it.

A represents a tube, made of metal "or any other suitable material, and provided ,with a stopper, a, at its upper end, so that by removing said stopper access can be had to its i1:- terior. This tube forms the ink-fount ain, and it connects at its lower end wit-ha short pipe, B, provided in its interior with a partition, b, which forms the stationary portion ofthe valve. The pipe B and tube A mayeither be made in two parts and fitted together sov as to 'form .aninlctight joint, or they may be made solid out of one and the same-piece of material. The position of the plug C is regulated by albutton, g, which projects through asot, h, in the socket B, so that it can be easily turned from one side tothe other.- 'This slot extends over an arc of' about one hundred and eighty degrees, and it is so arranged that when the button strikes one end ot' the saine Vthe lgroove f registers with the hole e, and when the button is turned to same the supply ot ink is stopped. The outer end ofthe plug O 4is slightly tapering, to receive the pen-holder,

and it is so arranged that it will tit to holders ot'difterent construction. My fountain arrangement can thus be used with any ordinaryppen, and the pen can bef changed whenever it isl desirable. The whole deviceis exceedingly cheap, andsimple in its construction, order.

AWhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by- Letter's Patent, is l 4 A fountain pen provided with a movable plug, (J, which has a central channel, c, and groovef, and works in the socket B, against the partition b, whichis provided with a hole, e, substantially in themanner herein specified,

and itis not liable to get out of sol that by turning the plug inthe socket the' supply of ink to the pen can be regulated.
