2 Claims, 2 Drawing Figures US. Patent Nov. 11, 1975 3,918,104
FLAP COVER WITH WATER DISTRIBUTING DEVICE FOR SANITARY APPARATUSES The present invention relates to a flap with attached water distributing device for sanitary apparatuses, such as toilet bowls, bidets, or drainers.
For convenience and hygiene reasons, toilets should indispensably be equipped with washstands.
However, reserved places for toilet bowls are customarily in too limited a place to enable the addition of even a place to wash-hands.
Besides, one objects to the hygiene of bidets with classic conception, in that in effect they cannot by used for purposes being designed for them.
As regards the drainers with limited utilization for fillings and emptying of containers they occupy a place which might be well used for other purposes.
The present invention has the purpose to remedy said incoveniences and brings to sanitary apparatuses and installations the requires hygiene with security and convenience of desired utilization, in modifying the aforementioned bowls in sanitary apparatuses with multiuses in which utilizations are effected without any transformation of the bowl for each sanitary utilization.
For this purpose, the invention relates to sanitary apparatuses, water-closet, bidet, or drainer taken as well as in their whole and separately and more particularly by the addition to the aforementioned apparatuses of an unchanged element of installation and utilization most practiced, characterized by a flap cover for toilet covers, bidet, or drainer, having different shapes and in the interior of which there is a water distributing device with orientable shower head, the said system, by connection to a conduit, is connected to a cock system placed at the hand range, underneath the bowl flat part or on a support mounted in proximity thereto.
As a non limiting example, two shapes of the new flap cover with articulated water projection device, in accordance with the invention, are represented in the attached drawings in which,
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a sanitary apparatus, bidet or drainer equipped with the said cover with orientable shower head mounted on a slide to permit adjustment in height.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a modified form of a toilet bowl.
FIG. 1 shows a sanitary bowl 9, bidet or drainer having a cover 1 pivoted thereon by a bolt and nut 4 whereby tightening of said bolt will retain said cover in the desired position.
This cover is provided on its internal face with a distributing water system constituted, in preference having an adjustable small head 2 like a shower head. This shower head is mounted on a pivotable support 3 or other articulating system. The oscillation of the shower-head 2 on the support 3 is limited to avoid any water projection out of the bowl. A feeding conduit is partially embodied between two walls of the head 2 I, with said cover connected to the cock system 6 by a flexible hose 5.
Besides, an increase of the adjustment height of the water projection device can easily be obtained by mounting its connecting support 3 for sliding in a vertical guide-block 7 on the internal wall of the cover. A passage for the release of support 3 can possibly be foreseen in passage 8 underneath the slide 7 to permit to disconnect in case of need of the shower head from the cover in order to orient it by hand by drawing the hose 5 through the passage (8).
Besides the advantages furnished by the water distributing device of the cover. such a cover in its down position permits also to serve as a seat on sanitary apparatuses such as a bidet or drainer.
FIG. 2 illustrates a modification of the flap cover for a toilet bowl 12 with rim 11 particularly formed to enable one to sit in one position or in other, the last convenience offers to an old person or to certains patients, a support in front of toilet seat, here constituted by the cover of the water container 10 or in other case by a shelf, holder, avoiding the user in case of fatique, from falling head forward.
As stated before, the shower head device 2 is connected to the internal part of the cover 1 on an articulated support 3 enabling a person to orient at will the head for variable water projection. The feeding conduit in cover with double walls is connected by a hose 5 to the cock system'6 mounted underneath the rear part of the bowl and workable by means of a lateral arm. It is also in this case possible to have dispositions as that indicated in case of the arrangement shower in FIG. 1.
Such a flap cover permits the use of the toilet sanitary apparatus to wash-hands, water point for cleanliness of young children or bidet upon need.
The invention is of course not limited to examples of realization above described and represented from which one shall be able to foresee others varied executions of the flap cover as well as the cock system with articulated shower head for that without going out from the invention design.
I claim:
I. A sanitary apparatus such as a toilet, bidet or drainer with a water distributing device comprising a bowl, a cover, means pivotally connecting said cover to said bowl, a shower head, said means having a passage for water therethrough, means carried by said cover in communication with said shower head and said passage and capable of passing water therebetween, a slide being slideably mounted on said cover and carrying said shower head facing said bowl, and said cover has two walls with said cover carried means being a passage between said walls.
2. A sanitary apparatus as claimed in claim 1 in which said shower head is pivotally mounted on said slide.

Claims (2)
