Abstract

A bubble forming toy for the making of soap bubbles. The bubble toy comprises a housing in which a liquid soap solution is maintained, with a cover hinged to the top of the housing. A flexible air tube extends through the cover, and is fitted on the inside of the cover to a coil spring. The user closes the cover to wet the coil spring and then rotates the cover to an open position, blowing simultaneously through the flexible air tube to form bubbles from the solution retained on the coil spring.

Primary Examiner-F. Barry Shay Attorney, Agent, or Firm-Howard I. Podell [5 7] ABSTRACT PAIENIE HUV 191974 FIG. 3
BUBBLE SOLUTION HOUSING WITII COVER-MOUNTED TUBE AND COIL SPRING SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION My invention relates to a bubble forming toy, and particularly a toy in the form ofa cylindrical housing for retention of a soap solution, fitted with a hinged cover, through which a flexible tube extends. A coil spring is fixed to the inner end of the flexible tube, inside the housing in the closed position of the cover.
In use, the cover is rotated to an open position, with soap solution retained on the coil spring, and blowing air through the flexible tube by the user causes bubbles to be generated off the coil spring.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING The objects and features of the invention may be understood with reference to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of the invention, taken together with the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 illustrates a front sectional view of the invention;
FIG. 2 illustrates a top view of the invention; and
FIG. 3 illustrates a fragmentary sectional view of the invention in use.
DESCRIPTION OF THE'PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Turning now descriptively to the drawings, in which similar reference characters denote similar elements throughout the several views, FIGS. 1-3 show the bubble-forming toy formed of a cylindrical housing 11 fitted by a hinge 16 to a circular cover l4.-
A flexible tube 18 is joined to a sleeve 17 fitted about an opening 15 in the cover, with a coil spring 19 fastened to the extension of the sleeve I7 inside the cover 14.
Soap solution 20 is placed in the housing interior 21 and some of the solution 20 clings to the spring 19 as the cover 14 is rotated to the open position shown in FIG. 3. Blowing of air by the user through tube 18 results in the production of bubbles 25 about the coil spring 19 with said bubbles 25 released into the air.
Since obvious changes may be made in the specific embodiment of the invention described herein. such modifications being within the spirit and scope of the invention claimed, it is indicated that all matter contained herein is intended as illustrative and not as limiting in scope.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
l. A toy for forming of soap bubbles comprising a cylindrical hollow housing, means hinging said housing to a cover, a flexible tube externally fastened to said cover and communicating with the hollow housing interior through an opening in the cover, and means securing a coil spring inside the cover about said opening in a position such that a liquid soap solution may be located in the housing interior to wet the coil spring when the cover is closed, with the rotation of the cover about its hinging means to an open position permitting the user to blow through the tube and form bubbles from the soap solution retained on the coil spring.
