PEER/Iv, COUNCIL A; TUCKER BY MAHONEV & Ham/BAKER Arm/ways l DISPENSER FOR TOILET'SEAT COVERS AND SEAT COVER PACKAGE IN COMBINATION TI'IEREWlTI-I BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a dispenser for toilet seat covers and a seat cover package or packages in combination therewith wherein, due to a uniqueandcooperable final in-' terengagement between the dispenser and package or tributes with which the seat cover packages may be inserted substantially vertically upwardly therein through a lower, at least partially downwardly opening,"f1ller slot, yet the final positioning of the packages within the dispenser insures against accidental dislodgement of said packages from the dispenser, despite said downward opening of said filler slot. Furthermore, the dispenser is adapted for being formed of sufficient horizontal depth to accommodate two seat cover packages simultaneously, both properly positioned for seat cover dispensing therefrom and unique filler means is provided for selective installation in said two-package dispenser for converting the same to a single package dispenser, thereby providing the dispenser of the present invention with complete versatility.

Although certain of the prior, wallsmounted dispensers for toilet seat covers have been formed for hinged opening in order to install seat cover packages therein, the class of dispensers involved in the present invention have been formed nonhinged with a permanently open lower filler slot through which the seat cover packages may be inserted upwardly into the interior of the dispenserfor proper positioning therein" during the dispensing operation. In such prior dispensers, the

filler slots have usually been formed in a dispenser front wall spaced a short distance upwardly from a bottom wall thereof and spaced downwardly from the conventional dispensingopening through which the seat covers are removed one at a time from packages posltioned in the dispensenThe prior seat cover packages have usually consisted of a paperboard envelope enclosinga plurality of individual tissue seat covers with a usual dispensing opening through an envelope front panel so that with a package properly positioned within the dispenser andthe package and dispenser dispensing openings aligned, the seat covers 'maybe removed or dispensed from the package and dispenser;

Certain difficulties have been encountered with the prior pansion of said packages within the dispenser confines increasing the, package size and preventing the accidental dislodgment thereof downwardly through the dispenser filler slots. In either situation however, not only is the seat cover package installation relatively difficult and tedious, but deformation' of the seat cover packages can cause prohibitive damage to both the envelopes and enclosed seat covers thereof, making such alternates completely undesirable.

Still further, certain of the prior dispensers of the general form described and still having the disadvantages and difficulties discussed have been provided with the. horizontal dimensions thereof increased in order to simultaneously accommodate at least two seat cover packages therein. The seat cover packages to be used with such double-package dispensers have been formed with perforate, selectively removable sections in the rear envelope panels aligned with and corresponding to thefront panel dispensing openings. Upon exhaustion of the seat covers in the forward of the seat cover packages, therefore, the perforate sections may be removed and the seat covers dispensed from the rearward of the packages through the new empty forward package envelope.

In order to insert the packages through the thusly placed dispenser filler slots, it has been necessary to rearwardly angle said packages during the insertion process and in order to prevent the neces sity of package deformation, the dispensers have be en'formed of horizontal dimensions or depth markedly greater than that finally necessary for accommodating the packages after complete insertion. It has not been possible, prior to the present invention, to provide the dispenser filler slots downwardly opening .for more direct vertical insertion of the seat cover packages therethrough,since after the seatcover packages are fully positioned within the dispensers, there has been nothing to retain said packages therein.

It is, of course, possible to maintain the horizontal depths of the dispensers at a minimum, the dispenser filler slots still in the dispenser front walls and progressively deform the seat cover packages during insertion through said dispenser filler thereof, must always be contained. within the dispenser in order. to, retain either or both of the packages in proper dispensing position andagainst said unwanted movement. In other words, once a two-package dispenser has been selected,

OBJECTS AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION lt is,-therefore, anobject of our invention to provide a dispenser for toilet seat covers and a seat cover package or packages in co'mbination therewith in which the dispenser in- .cludes atleast a partially downwardly opening'fillerslot arranged for the nearly vertical insertion of seat cover packages therethrough into the dispenser and uniquelycooperable engagement; means is provided between the dispenser and package retaining lthe package against accidental dislodgment from thedis'penser after such insertion. According to they present invention, the dispenser includesupwardly extending detent means adjacent the" dispenser filler slot adapted for penetrating engagement into the seat cover package to retain said package in ,properlyaligned dispensing position and against said accidental dislodgment from the dispenser. Where the dispenser is formed'of sufficient horizontal depth so as to constitute a two-package dispenser, saiddispenser detent means penetratingly engages the forward of said packages, maintaining said forward package in rearward surface'abutment with the rearward. of said packages, thereby positively positioning both of said packages for efficient seat cover dispensing in the, manner hereinbefore discussed.

It is a further object of ourinvention to provide a dispenser for toilet seat coversahd a seat cover package or packages in combination'therewith "in which the horizontal dimensions of the dispenser may be only slightly greater thanthat necessary to accommodate the seat cover packages therein and increased dispenser horizontal depth is not required'to permit the insertion of seat cover packages through the filler slot thereof without package deformation. The downward opening positioning of the dispenser filler slot in combination with the cooperable final engagement between the dispenser and package permits the nearly vertical insertion of the packages through said filler slot and into the dispenser without the danger of later accidental dislodgment therefrom so that the need for additional internal dispenser space to permit such undistorted insertion is eliminated. The wall-mounted dispensers may, therefore, be formed of minimum horizontal projection from the vertical wall surface to which they are attached while still functioning in an efficient and satisfactory manner.

It is also an object of our invention to provide a dispenser for toilet seat covers and a seat cover package or packages in combination therewith wherein the horizontal dimensions in the side directions may be slightly increased to permit easy insertion ofa seat cover package therein, yet the final positioning of the package within the dispenser assures proper package alignment for the dispensing operation. The detent opening means of the package, preferably in the lower edge thereof, is formed of restricted length along said package and in the side directions of the dispenser, with the dispenser detent means being of corresponding dimensions and predetermined location relative to the remainder of the dispenser. In view thereof, once the package is inserted into the dispenser and the dispenser detent means brought into penetrating engagement with said package through the detent opening means, the side alignment of the package with the dispenser is automatically obtained without additional attempted. visual alignment being required.

It is still an additional object of our invention to provide a dispenser for toilet seat covers and a seat cover package or packages in combination therewith wherein, even though the dispenser is originally formed as a two-package dispenser, as hereinbefore discussed, if a later decision dictates the necessity of only a single-package dispenser, means is provided according to the principles of the present invention for quickly and efficiently converting said two-package dispenser to a single-package dispenser. Unique filler means'may be provided for the dispenser particularly adapted for securement therein effectively occupying that part of the interior of the dispenser normally occupied by the rearward of the two packages. I and similar to FIG. 4, but with filler bars installed therein occupying that space normally occupied DESCRIPTION OF THE BEST EMBODIMENT CONTEMPLATED Referring to FIGS. 1 through 4 of the drawings, an embodiment of the dispenser for toilet seat covers incorporating cer tain of the principles of the present invention is illustrated as a dispenser, generally indicated at 10, having a front wall 12, a top wall l4, sidewalls l6 and a bottom wall 18. The dispenser 10 is preferably formed of molded plastic and is secured wallmounted rearwardly against a vertical wall surface 20 (FIG. 4) by appropriate-fastening screws 22 received through fastener openings 24 in the sidewalls 16. Furthermore, the dispenser 10 in the particular embodiment illustrated is formed of appropriate horizontal dimensions or depth for simultaneously accommodating two toilet seat cover packages, generally indicated at 26, and to be hereinafter described in detail, said seat cover packages being shown in phantom lines in FIGS. 1 through 3 and in full lines in FIG. 4.

The dispenser front wall 12 is provided in an upper portion thereof with a usual dispensing opening 28, said front wall teractly position said forward package within 'the dispenser properly occupying its intended position so that proper package positioning is provided by said filler means despite the lack of the rearward package in the dispenser originally formed as a two-package dispenser.

'minating downwardly spaced above the dispenser bottom wall 18 at the upper extremity 30 of a filler slot, generally indicated at 32. At the filler slot upper extremity 30, the dispenser front wall 12 is preferably formed arcuately outwardly, as best seen in FIG. 4, in order to slightly enlarge the filler slot 32 and eliminate any sharp lower edge on said front wall. More important, however, it will be noted that the filler slot 32 extends well upwardly into the dispenser front wall 12 and has a rearward extremity 34 well rearwardly into the dispenser bottom wall 18 so as to constitute both a horizontally forwardly and vertically downwardly opening filler slot.

The dispenser topwall 14 is formed interiorly of the dispenser 10 with a pair of spaced, downwardly opening positioning sockets 36 for purposes to be hereinafter described, while the dispenser bottom wall 18 is formed interiorly with an upwardly opening recess 38 extending the complete length of the bottom wall or side extension thereof but of varying .horizontal depth or dimensions in view of the varying horizontal depth of said bottom wall caused by the arcuate configuration thereof best seen in FIGS. 2 and 3. As shown, the dispenser bottom wall 18 in rearward alignment with the filler slot 32 is of increased horizontal dimensions at the side extremities thereof and of minimum horizontal dimensions at the center portion thereof. It will be noted, however, as clearly shown in FIG. 1, that a forward edge top surface 40 of the bottom wall 18 throughout the major portion of the extension thereof presents a substantially horizontal surface across the side extension of the dispenser 10, also for a purpose to be hereinafter described.

A pair of spaced outer flanges 42 and a pair of spaced inner flanges 44 are formed vertically within the bottom wall recess 38, the outer flanges 42 terminating rearwardly short of the complete rearward extension of the bottom wall land the inner flanges 44 extending rearwardly coterminus said bottom wall. Also, the outer flanges 42 are formed with top surfaces 46 and the inner flanges 44 are formed with top surfaces 48, all horizontally aligned with the forward edge top surface 40 of the bottom wall 18. Thus, the combination of the forward edge top surface 40 of the bottom wall 18, the outer flange top surfaces 46 and the inner flange top surfaces 48 constitute a horizontal positioning surface of importance to certain of the principles of the present invention.

Finally and of extreme importance to certain of the principles of the present invention, detent means in the form ofa pair of spaced, vertically upwardly projecting engagement tabs50 are formed on the forward edge top surface 40 of the bottom wall 18, each forwardly aligned with one of the bottom wall outer flanges 42. As clearly shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, the engagement tabs 50 project well vertically upwardly into the interior or inner confines of the dispenser adjacent the rearward extremity 34 of the filler slot 32.

Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, an embodiment of toilet seat cover packages incorporating certain of the principles of the present invention is shown, said packages being generally indicated at 26. The particular seat cover package 26 shown herein is particularly adapted for use with the hereinbefore described dispenser 10 of the present invention and in combination with said dispenser constitutes a part of the present invention.

The seat cover package 26 is, however, separately described and claimed in the copending application entitled Dispensing Package For Toilet Seat Covers and Method For Positioning The Same In A Dispenser, Ser. No. 718,575, filed April 3, 1968, now abandoned.

More particularly, each of the seat cover packages 26 includes a paperboard envelope, generally indicated at 54, en-

closing and containing a plurality or series of tissue toilet seat covers 56. The seat covers 56 are of usual configuration and are usable for providing a sanitized covering on a toilet seat in the usual manner. Furthermore, it is immaterial to the principles of the present invention whether or not the seat covers 56' are of the individual two-fold or four-fold type as contained within the envelope 54.

To provide its enclosing and dispensing function, the envelope 54 includes a front panel 58 and a rear panel 60 joined by a top edge 62, a bottom edge 64 and progressively upwardly decreasing side edges 66. The envelope top, bottom and side edges 62 through 66, therefore, span all of the seat covers 56 completing the enclosure thereof. The envelope front panel 58 is provided with the'usual dispensing opening 68 through an upper portion thereof for removal of the seat covers 56, one at a time, therethrough and where the seat cover package 26 is to be used in a two package dispenser, a selectively removable perforate section, not shown, may be formed in the envelope rear panel 60 corresponding to and aligned with the envelope dispensing opening 68 for purposes to be hereinafter discussed.

More particularly to the principles of the present invention,

detent opening means is provided in the envelope bottom edge 64 in the form of spaced, generally rectangular tab engagement openings 70. The tab openings 70 are appropriately spaced along the envelope bottom edge 64 for penetrating reception therethrough and upwardly into the interior of the envelope 54 of the dispenser engagement tabs 50 when that particular seat cover package 26 is properly positioned within the dispenser lfl -according to the procedural steps set forth below. Even with the tab openings 70, it will be noted that the envelope bottom edge 64 spans all of the bottom edges of the seat covers 56 at the outer side and between such tab openings so that said bottom edge over the major portion thereof still completely spans the seat covers and forms the bottom enclosure therefor.

In use of the dispenser I0 and seat cover packages 26, the rearward of the seat cover packages 26 is first inserted nearly vertically upwardly through the dispenser filler slot 32 and into the interior of said dispenser. Such upward insertion is continued until the package envelope bottom edge 64 is above the upper extremities of the dispenser engagement tabs 50, after which, said package can be moved rearwardly and dropped downwardly to rest on the positioning surfaces formed by the dispenser bottom wall 18, that is, the forward edge top surface 40, the outer flange top surfaces 46 and the inner flange top surfaces 48. In such position, the rearward of the seat cov'er'packages 26 will rearwardly abut the wall surface 20 upon which the dispenser 10 is mounted.

Next, the forward of the seat cover packages 26 is similarly inserted nearly vertically upwardly through the dispenser filler slot 32 until the package envelope bottom edge 64 is above the upper extremities of the dispenser engagement tabs 50. Thereafter, vertical alignment is established between the tab openings 70 of such forward seat cover package 26 and the dispenser engagement tabs so that subsequent lowering of said package causes said dispenser engagement tabs to penetrate vertically upwardly through the package tab openings and into the interior of said package adjacent certain of the seat covers 56 therein, preferably between certain of said seat covers.

Such final positioning of the forward seat cover package 26 in the manner shown in FIG. 4, not only establishes rearward abutment of the forward package with the rearward package, but also, through such abutment, perfectly positions the forward package in a proper forward package location within the dispenser 10 and the rearward package in a proper rearward package location in said dispenser.

Thus, through the combination of the variouspositioning surfaces within the dispenser 10, the various rearward abutments and the cooperative penetrating interengagernent of the dispenser engagement tabs 50 upwardly through the forward package tab openings 70, all as described, both the forward and rearward seat cover packages 26 are positioned within the dispenser, with the package dispensing openings 68 rearwardly aligned with the dispenser dispensing opening 28 and said packages are maintained in said positions throughout the dispensing operation.

Initially, therefore, the individual seat covers 56 may be removed, one at a time, from the forward package 26 and the dispenser l0 until the seat covers in the forward package are exhausted. The previously described perforate section in the rear panel 60 of the forward package envelope 54 is then removed, or has previously been removed prior to insertion of the envelope into the dispenser l0, and the seat covers 56 in the rearward package are dispensed in the same manner.

According to the present invention, therefore, a unique dispenser 10 for toilet seat covers is provided adapted for use with unique seat cover packages 26 wherein said packages may be conveniently inserted nearly vertically upwardly into the dispenser through a lower filler slot 32 thereof, such nearly vertical insertion of saidpackages being permitted by the fact that the filler slot extends partially into the dispenser front wall 12 and partially into the dispenser bottom wall 18 so as to open both forwardly and, downwardly. As a result, the horizontal depth dimensions of the dispenser 10 may be maintained at a'minimum, only slightly larger than that necessary for finally accommodating the seat cover packages 26 therein, so that the dispenser will project horizontally from the wall surface 20 upon which it is mounted a minimum amount. Furthermore, the combined forwardly and downwardly opening configuration of the filler slot 32 is permitted, while still maintaining the seat cover packages 26 properly positioned in dispensing position within the dispenser 10 by the unique penetrating interengagement of the dispenser engagement tabs 50 upwardly through the forward package tab openings and into said package.

Such interengagement between the dispenser engagement tabs 50 and the forward package tab opening 70 not only permits the dispenser filler slot 32 to be sufficiently large for the easy upward insertion of the seat cover packages 26 into the dispenser 10 without any possible damaging deformation to said packages, but also retains said packages from accidental downward dislodgment from the dispenser 10 after said packages have been once inserted and properly positioned therein. Additionally, such tab and tab opening interengagement perfectly establishes the final proper alignment of the seat cover packages 26 with the dispenser dispensing opening 28 and maintains such positioning throughout the dispensing operation. Still further, such tab and tab opening interengageward package rearwardly abutting the rearward package, thereby establishing proper side alignment of both of said packages relative to the interior of the dispenser 10.

Referring particularly to FIGS. 6 through 9, where the dispenser 10 is originally formed as a two-package dispenser, as illustrated herein and hereinbefore described, and a decision is made that conditions warrant only a single-package dispenser, unique filler means is provided according to the present invention for quickly and conveniently converting the dispenser from a two-package to a one-package dispenser. Such filler means is shown in the form of a pair of filler bars, generally indicated at 72, one of which is shown removed from the dispenser 10 in FIG. 9.

Referring to FIG. 9, each of the filler bars 72 includes a rearwardly open, vertically extending recess 74, a top fastening end 76, a bottom fastening end 78 and a central, forwardly projecting positioning flange 80. The top fastening end 76 projects forwardly and is downwardly angled in such forward extension, while the bottom fastening end 78 likewise projects forwardly, but substantially horizontally and is formed with a forwardly open-ing central slot 82 vertically aligned with the positioning flange 80. The positioning flange 80 connects upwardly with the top fastening end 76, extends vertically to spaced above the bottom fastening end 78 and is of progressively decreasing horizontal depth dimensions in its upward extension, presenting a forward abutment surface 84.

For positioning the filler bars 72 within the dispenser 10, the top fastening ends 76 thereof are received upwardly within the spaced positioning sockets 36 of the dispenser top wall 14, preferable being adhesively secured therein. At the same time, the bottom fastening ends 78 of said filler bars 72 are received forwardly into the bottom wall recess 38 of the dispenser 10 straddling the bottom wall outer flanges 42 by reception of said flanges within the bottom fasteningend slots 82 of said filler bars. I

The bottom fastening ends 78 of the flller bars 72 are also preferably adhesively secured in the dispenser 10, with the forward extremities of said bottom fastening ends forwardly abutting thejdispenser bottom wall 18 at the forward extremities of the bottom wall recess 38, thereby positioning the positioning flanges 80 of the filler bars overlying and projecting forwardly of the forward edge top surface 40 of the dispenser bottom wall.

Thus, the filler bars 72 are spaced rearwardly of and rear wardly aligned with the dispenser engagement tabs 50, as best seen in FIGS. 6 and 8. Furthermore, said filler bars 72 permanently effectively occupy that portion of the dispenser horizontal depth normally occupied by the rearward of the seat cover packages 26. The forward abutment surfaces 84 on the tiller bar positioning flanges 80 provide for the rearward abutment by the forward seat cover package 26 so as to properly position said forward package interengaged with the dispenser engagement tabs 50 and rearwardly aligned with the dispenser dispensing opening 28 just as if a rearward seat cover package were actually positioned in the dispenser 10. p

In this manner, the dispenser 10 can be quickly and easily converted from a two-package dispenser to a single-package dispenser, the filler bars 72 being of an effective horizontal depth equivalent to one of the seat cover packages 26 and occupying the rearward package location. Where the top and bottom fastening ends 76 and 78 of the filler bars 72 are permanently adhesively secured to the dispenser 10, the entire dispenser may be secured to the wall surface 20 by pairs of vertically spaced fastening pads 86 having pressure sensitive or solvent activated adhesive coatings thereon and being received in the rearward opening recesses 74 of the filler bars, as best seen in FIGS. 6 and 7. The adhesive qualities of the fastening pads 86 will secure the entire dispenser 10 to the wall surface 20, permitting elimination of the previously used fastening screws 22 within fastener openings 24 and permitting said fastener openings to be filled by appropriate plastic filler plugs 88, as shown in hidden lines in FIG. 6.

We claim:

1. In a dispenser for toilet seat covers of the type having a hollow case adapted for wall mounting and receiving particularly dimensioned seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat covers being selectively removable from said packages and case through a dispensing opening vertically intermediate a front wall of said case; the improvements including: a partially forwardly opening package filler slot generally horizontally through said case front wall spaced downwardly from said dispensing opening forming the lowertermination of said front wall in that front wall portion overlying said filler slot;

7 said filler slot extending rearwardly of said case front wall forming said filler slot partially downwardly opening through a bottom wall of said case and being positioned permitting insertion of saidpackages generally vertically upwardly into said case;'and detent means forming a rearward extremity of said filler slot at said case bottom wall adapted for upwardly penetrating engagement into a bottom edge of a package inserted vertically upwardly into said case forwardly of said detent means and rearwardly and downwardly onto said detent means retaining said package in a proper dispensing position relative to said case dispensing opening within said case and securing said package against accidental dislodgment downwardly through said filler slot, the portion of said filler slot through said case bottom wall forwardly of said detent means being of less horizontal dimension forwardly to the portion of said filler slot through said case front wall than corresponding dimensions of said seat cover package bottom edge requiring said package to occupy both said filler slot portions during said insertion generally vertically upwardly into said case.

2. A dispenser as defined in claim 1 in which said detent means includes at least two spaced and upwardly projecting tabs adjacent said filler slot rearward extremity adapted for generally vertical engagement through said package lower edge and penetrating into said package.

In a dispenser for toilet seat covers of the type having a hollow case adapted for wall mounting and receiving particularly dimensioned seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat covers being selectively-removable from said packages and case through a dispensing opening vertically intermediate a front wall of said case, the improvement including: a bottom wall on said case; a package filler slot vertically through said case bottom wall forming a forward termination of said bottom wall rearwardly of said filler slot in that bottom wall portion rearwardly of said filler slot, said filler slot also opening forwardly through a lower part of a case front wall, said filler slot being positioned permitting generally vertical insertion of said packages upwardly into said case; and upwardly projecting detent means at said case bottom wall projecting upwardly at a rearward extremity of said filler slot adapted for vertically upwardly penetrating engagement into a bottom edge of a package inserted vertically upwardly into said case forwardly of said detent means and rearwardly and downwardly onto said detent means retaining said package in a proper dispensing position relative to said case dispensing opening within said case and preventing accidental dislodgment of said package downwardly through said filler slot, the portion of said filler slot through said case bottom wall forwardly of said detent means being of less horizontal dimension forwardly to the portion of said filler slot through said case front wall than corresponding dimensions of said seat cover package bottom edge requiring said package to occupy both said filler slot portions during said insertion generally vertically upwardly into said case.

4. A dispenser as defined in claim 3 in which said detent means is positioned adjacent a forward termination of thatpart of said case bottom wall rearwardly aligned with said filler slot forming said filler slot rearward extremity at said bottom wall forward termination.

5. A dispenser as defined in claim 3 in which said detent means includes a plurality of spaced and upwardly projecting tabs adjacent a forward termination of that portion of said case bottom wall rearwardly aligned with said filler slot forming said filler slot rearward extremity at said bottom wall for ward termination.

6. In a dispenser for toilet seat covers of the type having a hollow case adapted for wall mounting and receiving seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat covers being selectively removable from said packages and case through a dispensing opening vertically intermediate a front wall of said case; the improvements including: said case having horizontal dimensions sufficient to normally simultaneously accommodate at least two packages interiorly thereof properly positioned for dispensing through said case dispensing opening and with the forward of said packages rearwardly abutting the rearward thereof; a lower portion of said case forming upwardly facing positioning surface means underlying that part of the case interior normally accommodating said rearward package and being adapted for receiving said rearward package thereon; a filler slot through said case lower portion forward of said positioning surface means having horizontal dimensions permitting insertion of said packages one at a time generally vertically into said case; and detent means projecting upwardly from said case lower portion rearward of said filler slot vertically penetrating that part of said case interior normally accommodating said forward package for vertically penetrating said forward package whensaid package is in said case in said dispensing position and retaining said package against accidental dislodgment downward through said filler slot, said-detent means retaining said forward package rearwardly abutting said rearward package 7. A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which said case includes a bottom wall forming said upwardly facing positioning surface means; and in which said filler slot is formed through said case bottom wall.

A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which said case has a bottom wall forming said upwardly facing positioning surface means; in which said case has a front wall; and in which said filler slot extends partially downwardly through said case bottom wall and partially forwardly through said case front wall.

9. A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which said case has a bottom wall forming said upwardly facing positioning surface means; in which said case has a front wall; in which said filler slot extends partially downwardly through said case bottom wall and partially forwardly through said case front wall; and in which said detent means includes a plurality of spaced tabs projectingupwardly adjacent a rearward termination of said filler slot.

10. A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which filler means is installed in said case effectively in horizontal dimensions occupying that part of said case interior normally accommodating said rearward package, said filler means having forward abutment surface means thereon for rearward abutment by said forward package when said forward package occupies that part of said case interior normally accommodating said forward package.

A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which spaced filler bars are positioned in said case effectively in horizontal dimension occupying that part of said case interior normally accommodating said rearward package, said filler bars having forwardly projecting abutment flanges thereon forming abutment surface means for rearward abutment by said forward package when said forward package is in that part of said case interior normally accommodating said forward package.

12. A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which spaced filler bars are positioned in said case effectively in horizontal dimension occupying that part of said case interior normally accommodating said rearward package, said filler bars having forwardly projecting abutment flanges thereon forming abutment surface means for rearward abutment by said forward package when said forward package is in that part of said case interior normally accommodating, said forward package, said filler bars extending vertically entirely of said case interior and being permanently secured to said case.

13. A dispenser as defined in claim 6 in which spaced filler bars are positioned in said case effectively in horizontal dimension occupying that part of said case interior normally accommodating said rearward package, said filler bars having forwardly projecting abutment flanges thereon forming abutment surface means for rearward abutment by said forward package when said forward package is in that part of said case interior normally accommodating said forward package, said filler bars extending vertically entirely of said case interior and being permanently secured to said case; and in which said filler bars have means formed thereon for mounting said case on a.wall.

In the combination of a dispenser for toilet seat covers and particularly dimensioned seat cover packages therefor, said dispenser being of the type having a hollow case adapted for wall mountingand receiving said seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat cover packages being of the type having an envelope with front and rear panels joined by edges including a bottom edge spanning between said panels and adapting said envelope for enclosing a plurality of toilet seat covers, said seatcovers being selectively removable from said packages and case through aligned dispensing openings verticallyinterrnediate saidpackage front panels and .a front wall of said caseythe improvements including: a package filler slot atleast vertically downwardly through a lower portion of said case positioned permitting generally vertical insertion of said packages upwardly into said case, interior dimensions of said case anddimensions of said filler slot being greater than corresponding dimensions of said packages permitting free insertion of at least one of said packages upwardly into and rearward and downward shifting of said package bottom edge within said case; upwardly projecting detent means adjacent a rearward termination of said case filler slot adapted for vertically penetrating engagement into a package inserted vertically upwardly into said case and rearward and downward shifting of said package bottom edge retaining said package in a proper dispensing position within said case and preventing accidental dislodgment of said package downwardly through said filler slot; and detent opening means formed through a part of said package envelope bottom edge positioned for receiving said case upwardly projecting detent means upwardly therethrough during said rearward and downward shifting of said package bottom edge within said case, said case detent means vertically penetrating into inner confines of said envelope adjacent certain of said seat covers therein to locate and retain said envelope in said proper dispensing position, said envelope bottom edge adjacent said detent opening means forming said spanning between said envelope panels at said bottom edge to downwardly complete said envelope seat cover enclosure.

A combination as defined in claim 14 in which said dispenser case has a front wall and said case filler slot opens partially forwardly through said front wall, the portion of said filler slot downwardly through said case lower portion being of less horizontal dimensions without said filler slot forward openingthrough said case front wall than corresponding.

dimensions of a package bottom edge requiring use of said filler slot forward opening to insert a package into said case; in which said case detent means includes a plurality of upwardly projecting tabs spaced along said case filler slot rearward termination; and in which said detent opening means of said package envelope includes a plurality of openings formed through said package bottom edge appropriately spaced according to said case tabs.

16. In the combination of a dispenser for toilet seat covers and seat cover packages. therefor, said dispenser being of the type having a hollow case adapted for wall mounting and receiving said seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat cover packages being of the type having an envelope with front. and rear panels joined by edges including'a bottom edge spanning between said panels and adapting said envelope for enclosing a plurality of toilet seat covers, said seat covers being selectively removable from said packages and case through aligned dispensing openings vertically intermediate said package front panels and a front wall of said case; the improvements including: said case having horizontal dimensions sufficient to normally simultaneously accommodate at least two of said packages interiorly thereof properly positioned for said dispensing and with the forward of said packages rearwardly abutting the rearward thereof; a package filler slot at least vertically downwardly through a lower portion of said case having horizontal dimensions and being positioned permitting generally vertical insertion of said packages one at a time upwardly into said case; a bottom wall of said case at a rearward termination of said filler slot forming upwardly facing positioning surface means underlying that part of the case interior normally accommodating said rearward package and being adapted for receiving said rearward package thereon; upwardly projecting detent means projecting upwardly from said case bottom wall adjacent said case filler slot rearward termination adapted for vertically penetrating that part of said case interior normally accommodating said forward package to vertically penetrate into said forward package inserted vertically upwardly into said case retaining said package in a proper dispensing position within said case and preventing accidental dislodgment of said package downwardly through said filler slot, said detent means retaining said forward package rearwardly abutting said rearward package previously inserted upwardly into said case through said filler slot; and detent opening means formed through a part of said forward package envelope bottom edge positioned for receiving said case upwardly projecting detent means upwardly therethrough and vertically penetrating into inner confines of said envelope adjacent certain of said seat covers therein to locate said envelope in said proper dispensing position, said forward package envelope bottom edge adjacent said detent opening means forming said spanning between said envelope panels at said bottom edge to downwardly complete said envelope seat cover enclosure.

17. A combination as defined in claim 16 in which said dispenser case includes a front wall having a portion of said filler slot extending horizontally therethrough; and in which said dispenser case detent means includes upwardly projecting tabs spaced along said case bottom wall engageable through correspondingly placed tab openings through said forward package envelope bottom edge and forming said detent opening means of said forward package envelope.

18. In the combination of a dispenser for toiletseat covers and seat cover packages therefor, said dispenser being of the type having a hollow casfidiflt?! for wall mounting and receiving said seat cover dispensing packages therein, said seat cover packages being of the type having an envelope with front and rear panels joined by edges including a bottom edge spanning between said panels and adapting said envelope for enclosing a plurality of toilet seat covers, said seat covers being selectively removable from said packages and case through aligned dispensing openings vertically intermediate said package front panels and a front wall of said case; the improvements including: said case having horizontal dimensions sufficient to normally simultaneously accommodate at least two of said packages interiorly thereof properly positioned for said dispensing; a package filler slot at least vertically downwardly through a lower portion of said case positioned permitting generally vertical insertion of said packages upwardly into said case; a case bottom wall underlying that part of the case interior normally accommodating the rearward of said packages; upwardly projecting detent means projecting upwardly from said case bottom wall adjacent said case filler slot adapted for vertically penetrating that part of said case interior normally accommodating a forward of said packages to vertically penetrate into said forward package inserted vertically upwardly into said case retaining said package in a proper dispensing position within said case and preventing accidental dislodgment of said package downwardly through said filler slot; filler means positioned in said case interior effectively horizontally occupying that part of said case interior normally accommodating said rearward package, said filler means having forwardly facing abutment surfaces thereon; and a single of said packages positioned in said case interior, detent opening means formed through a part of said singlepackage envelope bottom edge positioned for receiving said case upwardly pro ecting detent means upwardly therethrough and vertically penetrating into inner confines of said envelope adjacent certain of said seat covers therein to locate said single-package rearwardly abutting said filler means abutment surfaces in said proper dispensing position, said single package envelope bottom edge adjacent said detent opening means forming said spanning between said envelope panels at said bottom edge to downwardly complete said envelop seat cover enclosure.
