Cl. 40-125 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates generally to holiday decorations. More specifically it relates to decorator panels.

A principal object of the present invention is to provide a decorative panel having a plurality of agate marbles inserted into the surface thereof so as to form a design or other decoration which will produce a pleasing glow when a light is shined thereupon.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a holiday decoration which may be used for various seasonal holidays such as New Years Day, Valentines Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a holiday decoration which may be designed to form various favored quotations or other texts.

Still a further object of the present invention is to provide a holiday decoration wherein the panel on which the agate marbles are placed is pre-drilled to a particular design and is then retailed for a home-craftsman to fit the performated openings with marble colors to his own desire.

Yet a further object to the present invention is to provide a holiday decoration wherein the panel upon which the agate marbles are fitted is provided with the entire surface thereof pre-drilled, and the homecraftsman may then assemble any form of design or decoration by fitting marbles in selected openings thereof only.

Other objects of the present invention are to provide a holiday decoration which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efiicient in operation.

These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:

FIGURE 1 is a front elevation view of a model decor door incorporating the present invention;

FIGURE 2 is a front elevation view of a modified design thereof;

FIGURE 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view taken on the line 33 of FIGURE 2;

FIGURE 4 is a fragmentary front elevation view of a modified form of the present invention;

FIGURE 5 is an enlarged cross-sectional view taken on the line 5--5 of FIGURE 4;

FIGURE 6 is a front elevation view of a screen shown incorporating the present invention;

FIGURE 7 is a perspective view of a pen stand shown incorporating the present invention; and

FIGURE 8 is a perspective view of a trivet shown incorporating the present invention.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, the reference numeral 10 represents a marble decor door, according to the present invention, wherein there is a fiat panel 11 having a front side 12 and rear side 13, and which is provided with a plurality of openings 14 therethrough. As is shown in FIGURES 1 and 2 of the drawing, the openings 14 are made in a select position in panel 11 so as to form the character of designs or words. Thus, as is shown, only a limited number of openings are provided in the panel so as to produce a particular completed design. Into these openings, a common, spherical marble, generally known as agates is fitted and secured by frictional means or adhesives. It; is of course understood that such marbles are usually of transparent glass and are provided in various streaks of colors. When these marbles are thus fitted into the openings, the particular design will produce a beautiful effect of glow when a light is shown thereupon. Thus as is shown in FIGURE 1, the marbles 15 are used to form the quotation 16 of readable text. In FIGURE 2 the marbles are arranged to form the design of a candle 17 upon a candle stand 18, this design being preferably used for the Chirstmas season.

In a modified construction of the present invention, as is shown in FIGURES 4 and 5, the flat panel 20 is provided with a plurality of equally spaced apart openings 21 throughout its entire area, thus in the present form of the invention, a craftsman or other person may place thereupon the marbles 15 in any of various designs to his likings, thus as is shown in the example illustrated in FIGURE 4, the word God which was also shown in FIGURE 1 is here produced by selected ones of the openings 21.

It is to be noted that this invention may be applied to other objects besides doors, and accordingly in FIG- URE 6 a screen 22 is shown having a design 23 upon each panel 24, which is likewise formed of the marbles in a selected position.

In FIGURE 7 a pen stand 25 is shown supporting pens 26 the sand being provided with side panels 27 each of which is-decorated with the marbles 15 inserted into the surfaces thereof.

In FIGURE 8 of the drawing, a trivet 28 is shown having an upper decorative surface 29 that is provided with openings therethrough into which marbles 15 have been inserted to form a decorative design.

While various changes may be made in the detailed construction it is understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as is defined by the appended claims.

I claim:

1. In a holiday decoration, the combination of a singular flat panel, said panel having a front and rear side, said panel being provided with a plurality of openings therethrough, an agate marble being fitted into each opening, said marble being secured therein by adhesives, said panel having said marbles inserted within the openings thereof producing a pleasing glow when a light is shined 3 4 thereupon, said openings in said panel being made in the References Cited ilzlaggggfnggrious designs or quotations in their combined UNITED STATES PATENTS 2.
