BOLTINGQREEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 309,102, dated December 9,1884.
Application filed January 23, 1884.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DrnrnrorrSci-nnnnnn, a citizen of Switzerland, residing at Zurich, in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bolting-Reels; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention has reference to boltingreels; and it consists in the improvements hereinafter described, and then sought to be defined by the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 shows a piece of bolting-cloth with two bands, at a, of plain close weaving, and the open gauze sections 1) b b. Fig. 2 shows a reel covered with the same The outer adjacent selvages may be sewed or laced together or fastened each to the frame. Fig. 3 shows a piece of bolting-cloth with the bands of plain close weaving arranged in pairs a a, and a narrow line of gauze or open weaving, 0, between the bands of each pair, along which the cloth can may be varied to suit the demands of the trade; also, although the bands are preferably woven close, yet it is within the scope of my inven- (X0 model.)
tion to weave them with the same open mesh as the body of the cloth; only in this event coarser and stronger threads must be used for the bands to give the necessary strength; but in all cases the bands run lengthwise of the cloth, and are made wide enough to admit of being used for the purposes of attachment to the ribs of a reel.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is p 1. In combination with areel-frame, a bolting-cloth having one or more bands stronger than the gauze portion of the fabric woven through the body of the cloth and extending lengthwise of the same, said bands being adapted for use in attaching the bolting-cloth to the reel, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
. 2. In combination with a reel-frame, a bolting-cloth having bands stronger than the gauze portion of the fabric woven through the body of the cloth and along its selvages, and all 6X tending lengthwise of the same, said bands being adapted for use in attaching the boltingcloth to the reel, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
3. In combination with a reel-frame, abolting-cloth having bands stronger than the gauze portion of the fabric woven through the body of the cloth and extending lengthwise of the same, said bands being arranged in pairs, with a line of open weaving between the bands of each pair, and adapted for use in attaching the bolting-cloth to the reel, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
