(Cl. 211-13) formed of a continuous section of wire having a head portion and a base portion that are provided with spaced apart legs and with the head portion and the base portion each having inwardly disposed bars for the wraparound support of the neckties supported upon the first named bars and with the wire constituting the head portion being inwardly directed and arcuately formed to provide a socket whereby the entire device may be supported upon a conventional pole, common with respect to storage closets.

The invention comprises a wire necktie holder having means associated therewith whereby the neckties supported upon the tie supporting bars may be wrapped around the hanger for compact storage within a suitable container, such as to provide a novel travel kit and whereby the neckties will be held in their wrapped around relation to prevent creasing of the ties.

Novel features of construction and operation of the device will be more clearly apparent during the course of the following description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings wherein has been illustrated a preferred form of the device and wherein like characters of reference are employed to denote like parts throughout the several figures.

Referring specifically to the drawings, there has been illustrated a necktie holder formed of a plurality of wire sections of relatively stiff wire and bent at opposite ends to form a head portion 5 and a base portion 6. The head portion 5 is bent to form a pair of spaced apart legs 7, that are connected together by a bar 8. The bar 8 is set inwardly from the ends of the legs 7. One leg 7 is provided with a diagonal bar 9, continuous with the leg 7 and a vertical portion '10 that terminates in a lower leg 11. The lower leg 11 is bent inwardly to form a horizontal bar 12 and the bar 12 terminates at its free end in a corresponding leg 13. The bars 8 and 12 form sockets 14 and 15, and with the sockets being in vertical alignment. The sockets 14 and 15 constitute guides or wraparound members for the reception of neckties or the like, illustrated in dotted lines at 16. The opposite leg 7 is bent inwardly and arcuately formed as at 1-7, to form a socket 18 for the engagement of the device over a conventional clothes hole in a closet or other storage area. 3,983,597 Patented May 7, 1963 ICC Also engaged with the frame of the device, is an L-shaped wire 20, having a vertical leg portion 21 and with the vertical leg portion 21 at its upper end being welded or otherwise connected to the diagonal bar 9, as shown at 22. A horizontal leg 23 is welded or otherwise connected to the bar 12 for its major length. The free end of the bar 23 is angled upwardly as at 24 and constitutes a lower necktie support and with the end 24 preventing the neckties from slipping laterally from the holder. Welded or otherwise connected to the leg 21 are plurality of bars 25, also having their ends angled upwardly as at 26, to prevent lateral slipping of the neckties from the bars. The entire device is formed of Wire having an identical diameter although, the device may be formed of any desirable material.

In the use of the device, neckties are supported upon the several bars 23- and 25 and with the entire structure being supported upon a clothes pole by snapping engagement into the socket 18, the ties will be held in suspended relation and in overlapping relation. When the device is to be employed for supporting neckties, as in traveling, the neckties are wrapped around the frame member and guided in their wrapping action by sockets 14 and 15, such initial wrapping being indicated in FIGURE 3 and the wrapping is continued until the ties have been completely wrapped around the frame. With the ties in the wrapped position, they are preferably engaged within a suitable container where they will be held against shifting or creasing. When the device is to be suspended from a clothes pole, the ties are unwrapped and fall downwardly and the hanger bodily engaged with a clothes pole or other supporting structure.

It will be apparent from the foregoing that a very novel form of necktie holder has been provided, the structure is simple and economically formed and constitutes a hanger for the normal suspension of neckties or when traveling, provides a novel means of wrapping the group of neckties bodily around the frame to be held within the sockets 14 and 15 against shifting. The device is ornamental, is strong, durable and most elfective for supporting at least four neckties either in a suspended manner or in the wrapped around engagement of the frame for travel purposes.

It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the precise construction shown, but that changes are contemplated as readily fall within the spirit of the invention as shall be determined by the scope of the subjoined claims.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A necktie holder of the character described for suspendingly holding a plurality of neckties comprising, a wire frame having cross rods at its upper and lower ends, the uppermost cross rod being upturned at one end and then directed downwardly to form a loop having its upper limit disposed above the uppermost cross rod, the downwardly directed part being in the form of a leg extending diagonally across the frame to meet a diagonally opposite end of the lowermost cross rod in a loop having its limit located below the lowermost cross rod, an L-shaped wire necktie-support having parallel necktie-holding rods extending from it and on which neckties are suspended, said support being attached at its upper end to the diagonally-extending leg and being attached at its lower end to the lowermost cross rod, the second end of the uppermost cross rod being formed into an upwardly-extending loop having its upper limit located above the uppermost cross rod, said loop having a downward leg extension provided at its lower end with an inturned suspension loop having an end attached to the diagonal leg.

2. A necktie-holder as provided for in claim 1, wherein the cross rods at the upper and lower ends of the frame are disposed inwardly of the loops at the ends of said cross rods so that neckties can be wrapped around the frame and will be confined on the cross rods between the loops thereof.

A necktie-holder comprising, a wire frame provided with a cross rod at each of its upper and lower ends, a loop at each end of each of the cross rods to maintain neckties wrapped around the cross rods and between the loops thereon, one of the loops at one end of the upper cross rod being connected by a diagonal leg to the loop at the diagonally opposite end of the lower cross rod, the loop on the second end of the upper cross rod having a downwardly and inwardly extending leg formed with a suspension hook having its end attached to the diagonal leg, and a necktie-holding frame secured at one end to the diagonal leg and at its other end to the lower cross rod, said necktie-holding frame having a plurality of necktie-supporting rods projecting from it.

A necktie-holder as provided for in claim 3, wherein the suspension hook is positioned within the frame between the upper cross rod and the diagonal leg, the necktie-supporting rods being positioned between the diagonal leg and the lower cross rod and extending parallel to the said lower cross rod.

1. A NECKTIE HOLDER OF THE CHARACTER DESCRIBED FOR SUSPENDINGLY HOLDING A PLURALITY OF NECKTIES COMPRISING, A WIRE FRAME HAVING CROSS RODS AT ITS UPPER AND LOWER ENDS, THE UPPERMOST CROSS ROD BEING UPTURNED AT ONE END AND THEN DIRECTED DOWNWARDLY TO FORM A LOOP HAVING ITS UPPER LIMIT DISPOSED ABOVE THE UPPERMOST CROSS ROD, THE DOWNWARDLY DIRECTED PART BEING IN THE FORM OF A LEG EXTENDING DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE FRAME TO MEET A DIAGONALLY OPPOSITE END OF THE LOWERMOST CROSS ROD IN A LOOP HAVING ITS LIMIT LOCATED BELOW THE LOWERMOST CROSS ROD, AN L-SHAPED WIRE NECKTIE-SUPPORT HAVING PARALLEL NECKTIE-HOLDING RODS EXTENDING FROM IT AND ON WHICH NECKTIES ARE SUSPENDED, SAID SUPPORT BEING ATTACHED AT ITS UPPER END TO THE DIAGONALLY-EXTENDING LEG AND BEING ATTACHED AT ITS LOWER END TO THE LOWERMOST CROSS ROD, THE SECOND END OF THE UPPERMOST CROSS ROD BEING FORMED INTO AN UPWARDLY-EXTENDING LOOP HAVING ITS UPPER LIMIT LOCATED ABOVE THE UPPERMOST CROSS ROD, SAID LOOP HAVING A DOWNWARD LEG EXTENSION PROVIDED AT ITS LOWER END WITH AN INTURNED SUSPENSION LOOP HAVING AN END ATTACHED TO THE DIAGONAL LEG.
