Description

April 2, 1963 c. E. LYNGHAVE ET AL 3,083,818
CONTAINER FOR THE COUNTING AND STORAGE OF COINS Filed April 14, 1961 FIG. I
INVENTORS' United States Patent 3,083,818 C(BNTAIIJER FQR THE CGUNTING AND STORAGE 0F (IOINS Carl Ejner Lynghave and Hans Ove Pedersen, both Patentbureanerne for Industri 0g Handvaerk, Banegaardspiads 1, Copenhagen V, Denmark Filed Apr. 14, 1961, Ser. No. 3,694 2 Claims. (Cl, 206--.82)
The invention relates to a container for the counting and storing of coins.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple and strong container for coins being provided with a reliable closure which can be operated simply by sliding it along the container, so that the container will be well fit for use in a filling machine capable of closing such containers.
According to the present invention a coin container for the counting and storing of coins comprises a cylindrical casing having an inner wall the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the coins, and the length of which corresponds to a predetermined number of coins, the casing being closed at one end and provided at the other open end with an outwardly projecting collar having at least one notch, the casing being surrounded by a ring slidable along the casing and being provided with at least one resilient and inwardly directed lug matching with said notch and projecting from the upper end face of said sliding ring, whereby the free horisontal leg of the lug is protruding for a short distance beyond the inner wall towards the center of the casing as a locking means for the coins in the casing.
In order that the invention may be more readily understood, a preferred embodiment thereof is described be- .low with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which FIG. 1 shows a coin container provided with a closure in side elevation,
FIG. 2 shows the coin container without the closure in plan view,
FIG. 3 shows the coin container provided with a 010- sure, in plan view.
As shown in FIGS. 1-3 each of the coin containers consist of a cylindrical casing 1 with a closed plane end 2. The casing 1 is open at the other end and has at this point two diametrically opposed collar portions 3 projecting outwardly from the casing 1.
A sliding ring 4 is provided on the outer surface of the casing 1 and can be displaced therealong and is provided with two oppositely positioned hook-shaped inwardly directed lugs 5 which are arranged to be moved into the intermediate spaces between the collar portions 3 when the sliding ring 4 is moved along the casing 1 towards the open end. The casing 1 is made of a stilt transparent plastics material whereas the sliding ring 4 with the lugs 5 is preferably made of a resilient plastics material so that the lugs 5 will of their own accord snap in over the upper edge of the casing 1 to close the container when the sliding ring 4 is in its extreme position at the open end. The closed position of the container is illustrated in FIG. 3.
What we claim is:
1. A coin container for the counting and storing of coins comprising a cylindrical casing having an inner wall the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the coins, and the length of which corresponds to a predetermined number of coins, the casing being closed at one end and provided at the other open end with an outwardly projecting collar having at least one notch, the casing being surrounded by a ring slidable along the casing and being provided with at least one resilient and inwardly directed lug matching with said notch and projecting from the upper end face of said sliding ring, whereby the free horisontal leg of the lug is protruding for a short distance beyond the inner wall towards the center of the casing as a locking means for the coins in the casing.
2. A coin container as claimed in claim 1, in which casing is made from a transparent plastic material.

Claims (1)
