SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 292,402, dated January 22, 18,84. 7 Q Application filed November 23, 1888. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE M. BARRY, of Boston, in the county-of Suffolk and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Skirt and Garment Supporters; and I do hereby declare that the following is a'full and exact description thereof, reference being had to-the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification. This'invention consists of aslide, loop, pin, and also of two pieces of metal, marked, respectively, A and B, the piece A being doubled The end a side, which receives the pin 6. The said end 0 doubles upon itself in aloop till its point touches at f. The loop is deepest at d, so that the pin maybe well held when bearing the weight and strain of the clothing. The end 9 is doubled closenpon itself around an ordinary wire loop, h, by which the entire device is fastened to the end of a strap, a corset, or

anything else from which it may be desirable to suspend it. The two pieces A andB are united by a hinge at z, and the opposite end, K, of the piece B is provided with thepin e, which is preferably attached to the piece B by the pin having a shoulder cut on its upper end, the said end projecting up through a hole in the piece B, (which thus rests on the shoulder,) and said end being then flattened downvice, one of said jaws being provided with the hinged portion and bearing. the penetratingpoint, and the other having its end doubled upon itself and provided with an aperture to receive the point, the jaws adapted to be locked by a slide.
