SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 290,336, dated December 18, 1883.
Application filed June 22, 1883.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR LOTZ, of 51 Rue d Hauteville, Paris, in the Republic of France, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Paper-Fasteners, of whichthefollowing is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a paper-fastener which is simple and cheap in construction and convenient in use.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of a completed fastener made in accordance with the invention. Fig. 2 represents the position of the fastener after it is applied to use.
The fastener consists of a plain or fiat piece of suitable sheet metal, pointed and split longitudinally from both ends, forming a solid shank, a, from which two tangs, b 1), project in one direction, and two tangs, d d, in the opposite direction. Both ends being pointed, the
