(Cl. 211-87) This invention relates to supports, particularly of the wall bracket type, and in particular a wall bracket having a permanent magnet therein for urging the bracket against a metal surface and also for retaining razor blades on the bracket, and in which the lower edge of the bracket includes a hook-like flange in which the edge of a safety razor may be positioned.

The purpose of this invention is to provide a safety razor and blade holder designed to be retained in position on the surface of a metal frame, or the like by a permanent magnet therein so that the holder may be carried in a traveling bag and instantly positioned on a wall surface in a bath-room or the like.

Various types of supports have been provided for holding safety razors and also blades for safety razors. However, supports of this type are permanently attached to Wall surfaces by screws or other fastening elements and, consequently, are not suitable for traveling, or for being moved from one position to another. With this though in mind this invention contemplates a safety razor and blade holder having a permanent magnet therein whereby it is only necessary to position the holder against a metal surface and the holder is retained in position by the magnet.

The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide a safety razor and blade support that is designed to be supported by a permanent magnet therein on a surface having magnetic attraction.

Another object of the invention is to provide a safety razor and blade holder in which safety razors of different types and designs may be supported therein.

A further object of the invention is to provide a safety razor and blade holder that may readily be moved from one position to another in which the holder is of a simple and economical construction,

With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention embodies a plate having a rolled lower edge providing an elongated hook, a casing having a permanent magnet therein, end plates transversely positioned in the casing and retained against the ends of the permanent magnet by magnetism of the magnet, and a friction element for preventing the plates from sliding downwardly out of position on the surface of a wall or frame.

Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description taken in connection with the drawing, wherein:

Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the improved safety razor and blade roller.

Figure 2 is a plan view of a casing for holding the permanent magnet.

Figure 3 is a front elevational view of the casing shown in Figure 2 showing the magnet retaining cavity therein.

Figure 4 is a cross-section through the casing taken on line 4-4 of Figure 3.

Figure 5 is a front elevational view of a permanent magnet designed to be positioned in the casing shown in Figure 3.

Figure 6 is an end elevational view of a permanent magnet such as may be used in the casing shown in Figure 3.

Figure 7 is a front elevational view of the casing, being similar to the view shown in Figure 3 showing a permanent magnet and end plates positioned in the casing.

Referring now to the drawing wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts the improved safety razor and blade support of this invention includes a mounting plate 10 having an arcuate hook-like flange 11 extended across the lower end and slots 12 and 13 spaced downwardly from the upper edge, a casing 14 having a base 15, an upper panel 16 and end walls 17 and 18, a permanent magnet 19 positioned in the case 14 and end plates 20 and 21 positioned against ends of the magnet 19 and extended through the slots 12, and 13 in the upper edge of the mounting plate 10 and also through slots 22 and 23 in the top panel 16 of the casing 14.

The plate 10 is provided with converging edges 24 and 25 extending from the flange 11 on the lower edge to the narrow upper section 26 against which the casing is positioned. The rear face of the plate 10 is provided with a friction pad 27 that prevents the holder sliding downwardly as the result of the weight of a safety razor held by the flange 11.

The end plates 17 and 18 of the casing 14 are provided with ribs 28 and 29 and the end or transversely disposed plates 20 and 21 are provided with tongues 30 and 31 that are positioned below the ribs whereby the plates 20 and 21 are retained in upright positions.

The casing 14 is provided with a rear wall 32 having a recess 33 therein and the ends of the recess are defined with edges 34 and 35 that are aligned with upper and lower surfaces of the magnet 19 whereby the magnet nests in the recess 33 and is retained in position thereby.

The lower portion or face 15 of the casing 14 is provided with a diagonally disposed brace 36 that abuts the face of the plate 10 for supporting the casing 14, as shown in Figure 13.

With the parts designed and assembled, as illustrated and described, the support is positioned against the face of a wall. or frame of a cabinet with the rear edges of the plates 20 and 21 protruding beyond the surface of the rear wall 32 whereby the rear wall is spaced from a surface and wherein the friction pad 27 is urged against said surface. The plates 20 and 21 are of such a size that the upper edges also protrude, as illustrated in Figure 1 so that a package of razor blades 37 may be positioned on upper edges of the plates.

By this means a safety razor 38 may be held by the flange 11 of the plate 10 and a package of razor blades retained by magnetism thereof on upper edges of the plates 20 and 21.

The safety razor, and also the blades may readily be removed from the support or holder and the razor may be used in the conventional manner.

It will be understood that modifications, within the scope of the appended claims, may be made in the design and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.

What is claimed is:

1. In a safety razor and blade support, the combination which comprises a mounting plate having slots in the upper edge and a continuous hook-like flange extended across the lower edge, a casing positioned against the upper portion of the plate, a permanent magnet in the casing, and end plates positioned against ends of the magnet and extended through slots in the casing and also through the slots in the upper edge of the mounting plate.

In a safety razor and blade support, the combination which comprises a mounting platehaving .spaced' .slots extended downwardly from the upper edge, a continuous hook-like flange extended upwardly from the lower edge, and a friction pad on the rear surface, a vcasing having spaced slots in the upper surface positioned against'the upper portion of the mounting plate with the slots in registering relation with the. slots of said mounting plate, end plates extended transversely through the casing with the edges protruding at the .rear beyond the rear surface of the mounting plate and also with safety razor blade retaining edges protruding from the upper surface of the casing.

In a safety razor and blade holder, the combination which comprises a mounting plate having spaced vertically disposed slots extended downwardly from the upper edge, a hook-like flange extended upwardly from the lower edge, and a friction pad extended from the rear surface, a casing having spaced slots in the upper portion, said casing positioned against the face of the mounting plate and the slots therein being in registering relation with the slots in the upper portion of the mounting plate, transversely disposed plates positioned in the slots of the casing and mounting plate, and a permanent magnet in the casing and positioned with the ends contacting the transversely disposed plates, said magnet being designed to retain the holder upon a wall or cabinet and also for retaining safety razor blades on upper edges of the transversely disposed plates.
