It is an object of the present invention to provide a game stringer which permits the game to be carried more easily and readily and which is provided with its own handy anchor rod to thereby eliminate the necessity for finding a stick to fasten thestringer to.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a game stringer of the above type which includes a novel swivel action as a part thereof to eliminate twisted cords characteristic of conventional stringers.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a game stringer bearing the above objects in mind which is of simple construction, has a minimum number of parts, is inexpensive to manufacture and eflicient in operation.

For other objects and a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure l is a front elevational view in operative assembly of a preferred embodiment of the present invention and Fig. 2 is a fragmentary enlarged perspective view of a portion thereof.

Referring now more in detail to the drawing, 10 represents an elongated rod of steel or other suitable material serving as an anchor rod or anchor rod shield, the rod 10 being integrally formed at one end with an eye 11 and at the other end with the point 12, substantially as illustrated. The rod 10 will serve to anchor the stringer to be hereinafter described. A shield 13 of cork, rubber or other suitable material is provided and is normally positioned on the point 12 when the latter is not in use to prevent injury to the carrier. By providing the anchor rod 10 the necessity for looking for sticks and rocks is eliminated, since the latter are not readily available.

A first stringer cord 14 is provided at its'upper end with a loop 15 by means of which it is mounted on the anchor rod 10, a second loop 16 being formed at the lower end of the stringer cord 14 by means of the flat iron straps or clamps 17 (Fig. 2).

A swivel indicated generally at 18 is provided, the upper portion 19 thereof having an opening 20 within which is positioned a ring 21 threaded through the loop 16. The swivel 18 will permit the lower portion of the string to turn freely while the upper portion remains stationary, if necessary, and to eliminate twisting of the first stringer cord 14. The lower portion 22 of the swivel 18 is provided with an opening 23 which is positioned a ring 24.

A second stringer cord 25 is provided with a central loop 26 secured by means of the strap iron clamp 27, the loop 26 being threaded through ring 24.

Loops 28 are provided at the opposite ends of the second stringer cord 25 by means of the strap iron clamps 29.

A center rod 30 of steel or other suitable material is provided at the opposite ends thereof with the S-shaped double loop formations 31 and 32. The end loops 28 of the second stringer cord 25 are threaded onto the upper 2,794,582 Patented une 4,

loop formations 32 of the center rod 30 while spring hook's 33 are provided with eyes 34 which are threaded onto the lower loop formations 31. The spring hooks 33 will position thereon the game 35, as will be obvious.

A third stringer cord 36 is provided with the end loop formations 37 secured by means of the strap iron clamps 38, the loops 37 being also threaded onto the loop formations 31 of the center rod 30. The stringer cord 36 is of greater length than the rod 30 and is suspended freely from the same, as shown in Fig. 1. The third stringer cord 36 is provided with a plurality of loops 39 intermediate the ends thereof by means of the strap iron clamps 4' 3, a spring hook 41 having an eye 42 being threaded onto each of the loops 39 and being adapted to support thereon the game 35.

The rod 30 may be used as a carrying device to hold the catch high above the ground, while walking.

It should now be apparent that there has been provided a game stringer which is easy to carry, is provided with its own handy anchor rod and which eliminates thereby the necessity of looking for sticks to fasten the stringer to. It should also be apparent that there has been provided a game stringer of the above type which eliminates twisted cords and which may readily be assembled from two short rods, a few feet of rope or stagging and a plurality of clamps and spring hooks.

While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.

What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States is:

l. A game stringer comprising anchor rod means, a first stringer cord connected to said anchor rod means at its upper end, swivel means connected to the lower end of said first stringer cord, a second stringer cord connected at its center to said swivel means, a central rod connected at its ends to the ends of said second stringer cord, -a third stringer cord secured to said central rod at positions intermediate its ends, first spring hook means connected to the ends of said central rod forming a connection for said second stringer, and second spring hook means connected to said third stringer cord, said third stringer cord being of greater length than said central rod and being suspended therefrom.

2. A game stringer according to claim 1, said anchor rod means comprising an elongated rod integrally formed at one end with an eye and having a point at the other, and a resilient shield positioned on said point in a re movable manner.

A game stringer according to claim 2, said first stringer cord having a loop at the upper end thereof positioned on said rod, a loop formation at the lower end of said first stringer cord secured by a strap iron clamp, said swivel means comprising an upper member having an opening therethrough, a ring positioned within said opening and threaded through said loop at the lower end of said first stringer cord, and a lower swivel member having an opening at the lower end thereof, and a second ring positioned within said second opening.

A game stringer according to claim 3, said second stringer cord comprising an elongated cord having a central loop formed by a strap iron clamp, said central loop being threaded through said second ring, and a pair of loops formed at the free ends of said second stringer cord by means of second strap iron clamps, said central rod comprising an elongated rod integrally formed at opposite ends with an S-shaped double loop formation having upper and lower loops, the ends of said second stringer cord being threaded onto said upper loops.
