JOSEPH ZANCA United States Patent 2,778,156 WALKING, SITTING, AND STANDING DOLL Joseph Zanca, Brooklyn, N. Y. Application July 21, 1955, Serial No. 523,452 8 Claims. (Cl. 46-149) This invention relates to new and useful improvements in dolls.
More particularly,
proposes constructing through the flange rings and bosses.
A further object of the present invention proposes constructing the doll through the body between the legs and biasing the pins Fig. 1 is a side view of a doll constructed and in accordance with the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on line 22 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the standard and lever shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of one of the cam members shown in Fig. 2.
Fig. 5 is a side view of one of the lever connecting rods shown in Figs.
Fig. 6 is a side view of the inner side of one of the legs.
Fig. 7 is a sectional view taken on line Fig. 8 is a perspective view of one of members shown in Fig. 2.
Fig. 9 is a perspective view of a modified cam and lever connecting rod arrangement, showing these members to be integral.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the sitting, standing and walking doll of the present invention is designated generally by the reference numeral 15.
Doll 15 has a head 16, a body 17, two arms 18 and 19,
arranged 77 of Fig. 6. the pins and cam arms and legs are made plastic.
Body
leg openings 27 and 28 and legs 20 and 21 have annular boss portions 29 and 30 slightly smaller in outside diameter than the diameter of the leg the body.
have alignable pin openings 39, pin 42 and flange rings 32 and 38 and boss 30 have like openings for a knock-out pin 46. Inthis manner the flange rings are secured to the bosses. Sleeves 47 and 48 are provided for the pins 42 and 46 inside the inner flange rings 37 and 38.
Tubular cam members 49 and 50 have cam portions 51 and 52 adapted to bear against the pins 42 and 46. The cam members 49 and 50 have axial bores 53 and 54, lever connecting rod receiving chambers 55 and 56 and lever connecting rod slot openings 57, and 53 to the chambers 55 and 56, respectively.
Lever connecting rods 59 and 60 have extend through the slot openings bers 49 and 50.
A standard has trunnion portions 66 and 67 and an axial bore 68. The standard has an arcuate shaped lower portion 69 adapted to fit in the body between the legs.
to receive the upper ends 76 and 77 of the ever connecting rods 59 and 60.
The lever connecting rod receiving chambers 55 and 56 of cam members 49 and 50 pivotally and slidably fit holds the legs on the doll the pins 42 and 46 against the cam sure the cam members 49 and 50.
The operation of the doll is simple. When one leg is moved in one directiomthe lever 71 moves the cam member adjacent the other leg through the of that leg in step fashion. Likewise the process is reversed when the first leg is moved back. Movement of merely by walking the be made within the the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by United Letters Patent is;
