This locking cap constitutes therefore the only closure against the escape of liquid. If tightly litted on the neck of the liquid tank, this cap may prevent the leaving of the medium to be vaporised from the hole in the neck. Even the/ closed position however, some of the liquid to be at-omised can still ow from the stand pipe -into the neck, especially if the tank communicates freely with this neck. This possibility of the liquid to be atomised escaping into the neck causes, however, when the closing cap is loosened with a view of using the atomiser, an excessive outgoing of this liquid.
The present invention comprises a new construction of these pocket atomisers, which ensures a tight seal of the stand pipe in the closed position of the sprayer or atomiser, and which prevents a ow yof liquid yinto the neck of the atomiser when the atomiser is not in use. In a container `of the described design, where the spray nozzle for the liquid lto be atomised terminates in a neck portion of lthe liquid tank, and which contains an air nozzle, `co-ordinated to the end portion of the liquid nozzle, and where a cap, which locks the two sleeve container parts against each other in the closed position, surrounds the neck; in such -a container the cap is coupled with a sealing organ, which shuts off the nozzle in the locked position. The two nozzles are suitably -arranged in a plug o-r nozzle head which seals the neck against the liquid container, and these nozzles are preferably designed as passages drilled into and traversing the said plug, whereby the sealing organ 4is constructed as a sealing plate or disc, lco-ordinated to the upper face of the plug.
The -cap is, preferably, guided to slide axially, and against the pressure of a spring, along the neck by means of a pin and bayonet slot connection. This cap is, furthermore, rotatably held in the yinserted position and carries the sealing disc by means of an internal pin.
The air jet orifice terminates, preferably, inside an annular depression of the plug, which depression sur- -rounds the at-omising or spray nozzle. The plug is, furthermore, provided with an air vent passage for the liquid container, which is, preferably, controlled by a spring-loaded throttle valve.
The new arrangement leads, apart from .a simple design of the nozzle head, to an absolutely safe seal of the .atomiser nozzles and of the ai-r vent passage in the closed position of the a-tomiser, and prevents then the liquid medium from leaving the tank and from iiowing into the neck sleeve of the container.

` lThe nozzleh'eacll'lhasrtwo passages-18, 19, the passage 19 terminating in a nozzle or jet orice 21, which is surrounded by a circular groove 20. The passage 19 also regis-ters with a small tube 22, passing down the tank 8. A duct 23 terminating in a jet orifice which opens into the circular groove 20, passes from `the transverse passage 12 of the plug or nozzle head 7. This nozzle head or plug 7 is provided with a tubular extension 24, which has an outlet opening 2S therein, arranged in alignment wtih the nozzle duct 23.
'By means of a pumping motion eifected by a relative displacement of the two tubular ca-sings 1 and 2, pressurised air, coming from the pump cylinders 10, is driven out, by way of .t-he tubular ducts 11, the transverse passage 12, and the nozzle duct 23. This air entrains and atomises the liquid sucked from the tank `8 by way of the nozzle 21, and drives the atomised liquid out of the outlet hole 25. The passage 18 in the nozzle head 7 serves for the intake of air into the tank 8, and facilitates the suction of liquid through the tube 22.
1n order to avoid the escape or evaporation of liquid from the atomiser 7, when Ithe device is not used, and to obtain a tight seal, the tubular extension 24 carries a'cap 27, which can be axially displaced by pins 28 engaging bayonet-slots 26 and locked in `the .closed position. This cap is secured against removal by means of iixed screws 28, the ends of which engage in the slots 26. A helical spring 29 is arranged in the cap 27 in order -to press against the tubular extension 24, and urge the :cap 27 into its open position, in which the outlet part 25 of the tubular extension 24 is exposed.
The cap 27 ha-s a flange rim 30, which has two diametrically opposed notches, and in the retracted position of the container 2, this rim is engaged by two cliplike projections 31 of Ithe container 1 by engaging the said notches on the projections 31 and turning the cap, thereby locking the at-omiser in its closed position, a-s shown 'in Figure 3. The cap 27 carries, on an axial pin 32, a cup 33, which, by means of a rim thereon holds a sealing washer 34, made from deformable material, e. g. rubber. This washer bears in the closed position of the cap 27 against .the face of the nozzle head or plug 7, thereby closing the groove 20 and the nozzles 21, 23 and the air inlet passage 18. Thus no liquid can leave the tank 8 when the cap 27 is in its `closed position.
In the modification shown in Figures 4 to 6, the plug 7 'is mounted inside a tubular sleeve 35, which carries a screw cap 36. This cap 36 carries, on a rotatable axial stud 37, the valve 33 with a `sealing disc 34. If the `cap 36 is screwed down, this disc 34 descends and eventually bears against the face of the plug 7. A spring loaded throttle valve 38 is arranged in the air inlet passage 18. This valve 38 admits the entry of air into the tank 8 only in accordance with the vacuum establishing itself in -this tank.
The closure disc 33 carries a needle valve 39, which ensures the positive closure of the evacuation passage 18 of the plug 7, when the atomiser is closed, in which case the needle 39 closes the passage 18.
The bottom of the tubular casing 1 has a hole 40, which enables the ytank to be refilled, after unscrewing the screw plug 9, when the atomiser is in lits closed position.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and described to be -secured by Letter-s Patent is:
1, In a device for spraying liquid from a tank by air pressure discharged from pressure generating cylinders mounted in one part of a telescoping casing, a dispensing head on the part of said casing carrying the cylinders, said head being in the form of a plug having a flat face provided with a dischargeoriiice, an ai-r vent duct for the tank in the plug, a liquid discharge tube, air pressure duct means in the head communicating wit-h said cylinders and having an air jet nozzle portion disposed at an angle to the liquid discharge tube, a tubular extension on the plug having a lateral port to one side of said at face and in alignment with said `ai-r jet noz zle, said extension having bayonet slots, a cap mounted on said extension for partial turning and having means entering said slots to sl-idably guide the cap on the eX- tension, a spring confined between the inner end of the cap and the upper end of the extension, an axial pin on the cap, means on the inner end of the pin to seal the plug, a Vrim on the lower end of .the cap and having diametrically disposed notches, projections on the part of the casing into which the part carrying the head and cylinders telescopes for entering said notches, whereby, upon the cap being slidably moved to sealing position and turned as permitted by the bayonet slots the r' will engage beneath the projections to hold the partslf the casing in collapsed condition.
2. In a device for spraying liquid from a tank y air pressure dischargedfrom pressure generating cylinders mounted in one part of a telescoping casing, a dispensing head on the part of said casing carrying the cylinders, said head being in the form of a plug having a at face provided with a discharge or-ice, an air vent duct for the tank in the` plug, a liquid discharge tube, air pressure duct means in the head communicating with said cylinders and having an air jet nozzle portion disposed at an angle to the liquid discharge tube, a tubular eX- tension on the plug with a lateral port in line with the said air jet nozzle, a cap screw-threaded on the tubular extension, and sealing' means carried by a pin whose upper end is swivelled to the cap, and a needle valve on the cap for entering the said air vent duct when the cap is -screwed down to bring the Isealing means in engagement with the sealing tace of the plug,
