Description

June 9, 1953, Tf H. ORENGE OVERALL WITH STRAP ARRANGEMENT Filed Deo. 5, 1951 INVENTOR. TORRY HILL ORENGE BY n Patented June 9, 109573 UNITED STATES AT OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to a boys trousered garment, and its principal object is to provide an improved garment which will impart good appearance and protection to the wearer, permit fullest freedom of exercise and play without loosening, dislocating, losing, or impairing any of the supporting .parts of the garment, and affording enhanced convenience to the boy in dressing and removing the garment.
Another obje-ct is to provide an improved garment possessed oi" the foregoing advantages, and having all of its supporting parts fixed integrally with the rest of the garment, thereby Ipreventing yloss of such part during handling, wear, or laundering of the garment.
A further object is to provide an improved garment possessed of the foregoing advantage and being conveniently and economically manufacturable, salable at low cost, simplied, strong, durable, and eiiicient.
Other objects and advantages will hereinafter appear.
In the accompanying drawings,
Fig. 1 is a perspective front elevational view of the boys trousered garment constituting the invention.
Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the rear appearance of the garment.
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary rear elevational view, showing the upper part of the garment.
The boys garment I includes a lower trousers part 2 and integrally with the latter an upper part 3 constituting a vest. The lateral front portions 4 or vest 3 extend upwardly over the wearers shoulders 5, and rearwardly of said shoulders to locations 6 near to the nape I of the neck, whereat each portion 4 terminates in a tubular member 8. At the Wearers back 9 is provided a strap I the median portion Il of which passes slidably through both of the tubular members 8 of the vest portions 4, as shown in Fig. 2. The strap I0 has one of its terminals I2 securedly fixed to the rear upper rim I3 of the trousers .part 2 of the garment, as illustrated in Fig. 3, while its opposite end :portion I4 is provided with a series of button-holes I that are attachable to and detachable from a button I6 carried by the rim I3, for selectively adjusting the operative length of the strap I0.
While Wearing the garment I and during the boys strenuous exercise, play, or other exertions, its supporting portions comprising the rear parts Number oi vest il together with interlinked portion II of strap I0 with their location near the neckprevent any slipping ofi of said parts 4 from the wearers shoulders. Also, the free slidable movements of the vest parts -Il and median strap parts Il, relatively to each other, afford much comfort to the body during the said exertions. The permanent seeurement of the strap terminal I2 to the trousers 2 prevents loss of the strap Ii) during the handling, Wear, or laundering of the garment.
Variations may be resorted to within the scope of the invention, and portions of the improvements may be used without others.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
1. A garment comprising trousers and a vest integral with said trousers, said vest having a pair of front portions extending upwardly to form shoulder portions, and projecting rearwardly of the shoulder portions to form back portions, each of said back portions terminating in a tubular member, a strap having one end thereof fastened to the rear part of said trousers and its other end attachable to and detachable from said trousers, and said strap having its median portion passing slidably through both of said tubular members.
2. A garment comprising trousers and a vest integral with said trousers, said vest having a pair of front portions extending upwardly to form shoulder portions, and projecting rearwardly of the shoulder portions to form back portions, each of said back portions terminating in a tubular member, a strap having one end thereof fastened to the rear part of said trousers and its other end attachable to and detachable from said trousers at a plurality of locations on said strap, and said strap having its median por tion passing slidably through both of said tubular members.
TORRY HILL ORENGE.
