TheplungerE-if so desired, may be providedwith packing rings top'reventlleakof -fluid vfrom one way II with the passageway I3. Similarly at the opposite end of the plunger passageway I3 there is provided a duct 62 which communicates the passageway II immediately at the far side of the packing washer I6 with the plunger chamber I3. The extension I2 at the extreme end of the body may be provided with a Icap B which seals off the passageway I3. At the opposite end of the .passageway I3 the extension I2 may be provided with a ller cap II.
Any suitable liquid may be placed in the wrench. The passageway II and the chamber I3 at both sides of thepiston 26 and the plunger E are filled with the liquid, preferably without air space.-
It is quite obvious from the foregoing that in order to move the jaw D it is merely necessary to turn the wheel 44. This turns the rod 25 and feeds the piston 26 in the desired direction along the passageway I I. The liquid will pass through V the ducts 50and 62 and movethe plunger E and direction.
It will be noted from Figures 1 and 3 that the jaws are tapered so as to `permit their admission to places diiiicult of access.
Changes in details may be made to the form of invention herein shown and described without departing from the spiritvof the invention or the scope of the following claims.
I claim:
l. In a hydraulic wrench the combination of a supporting body including a handle, a stationary jaw upon the supporting body, a movable jaw upon the supporting body, said supporting body having a pair of chambers therein with transverse ducts communicatingthe chambers at opposite ends thereof, a piston slidable in one of the chambers between said ducts, means for moving said piston along said chamber from vexteriorly Y of the body, a plunger in the other chamber connected with the movable jaw for movement therewith, and a liquid in said chamber at opposite sides of the piston and plunger and movable through said ducts to move the jaw as the piston is moved along its chamber.

In a Wrench structure the combination of an elongated supporting body having a liquid re- -ceiving passageway therealong, a stationary jaw j upon said body, a movable jaw mounted upon thel body for movement thereupon towards and -away from said stationary jaw, a plunger slidable in said passageway and connected with said mov- -able jaw, a liquid in said passageway at opposite sides of said plunger, and means for selectively pressing the liquid ateither end of the plunger within said passageway for varying the position of the plunger and its movable jaw withrespect to the stationary jaw.
3. In a wrench structure the combination of an elongated supporting body having a liquid receiving passageway therealong, a stationary jaw upon said body, a jaw movably mounted upon the body jfor movement thereupon towards and away from said stationary jaw, a plunger slidable in said passageway and xedly connected with said mov- -able jaw, a liquid in said passageway at opposite kthe stationary jaw, said last mentioned means comprising a piston, and screw means mounted 1 upon said body for adjusting the position of said .Pistoll-l .i i. -Y
4. In a hydraulic wrench the combination of an elongated supporting body having a pair of compartments therein, duct means communicating said compartments at remote positions, a stationary jaw upon the body, a movable jaw upon the body, a plunger in one of the compartments between the duct means above mentioned, a slidable piston in the other compartments between the duct means above mentioned, a liquid in said compartments filling the ends thereof at opposite ends of the plunger and piston, and means for moving the piston for displacing the liquid and mcving the plunger and the movable jaw therewi h.
5. In a wrench structure the combination of a supporting body having chamber means therein, a stationary jaw upon the body, a movable jaw upon the body, a plunger connected with the movable jaw movable along the chamber means, a piston in the chamber means, a liquid in the chamber means at opposite ends of the plunger and piston, said body having duct means -communicating the chamber means beyond-similar ends of said piston and said plunger; and means for moving the piston for displacing the liquid and moving the plunger and the movable jaw therewith.
6. In a hydraulic wrench the combination of a supporting casing having a passageway therealong, a piston slidable in said passageway, means to prevent rotation of the piston, an elongated screw rotatably supported by the body supporting casing and threaded in the pistonl for moving vthe piston along the passageway upon rotation of the screw, a stationary jaw upon the casing, a movable jaw slidable along the casing, a liquid in the passageway at opposite sides of said piston, and means connected with the movable jaw and operable in said casing while being acted upon by the displacement of the liquid as an incident of movement of the piston, to move the movable Jaw.
7. In a hydraulic wrench the combination of an elongated supporting body having a pair of substantially parallel compartments therealong, one of which is longer than the other, a stationaryfjaw mounted upon oneend of said body, a movable 'jaw slidably mounted upon saidl vbody andencompassing both of said compartments, a plunger slidable in the shorter of said compartments iixedly connected with the movable jaw,' a .piston slidably movable along the longer compartment.

In a hydraulic wrench structure the combination of an elongated casing having a pair of substantiallyparallel compartments therein, said casing at oneend providing a handle and at its opposite endu having a laterally extending stationary jaw, a movable jaw mounted upon said casing complementary-to the stationary jaw; a plunger slidable in one of said compartments xeclly connected to the movable jaw for movement therewith, a piston slidable in the other compartment, liquid in both of'V said compartments at the opposite ends of the piston and plunger, said compartments having `communication With each other beyond both ends of the plunger and piston, and means mounted upon said casing for moving said piston and compressing the liquid for oper- 5 ating the plunger and the movable jaw therewith.
