This invention relates to a pancake turner and it is particularly an object of the invention to provide a device of this kind which is so constructed as to be maintained at all times in a sanitary condition.

Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide a device of this kind wherein the blade is offset with respect to the handle in a manner to facilitate use vof the device, and wherein the blade proper from one end to the other is substantially straight.

The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved pancake turner whereby certain advantages are attained, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

In order that my invention may be better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawing wherein is illustrated a view in perspective of a pancake turner constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention.

In the embodiment of the invention as illustrated in the accompanying drawing, B denotes a blade which is relatively wide and of a length at least twice as long as its width, although I do not wish to be limited in this respect. This blade B is flat and substantially straight from one end to the other.

The rear end of the blade B is continued by an upwardly disposed extension I integral with the blade B and which gradually tapers upwardly with the top or smaller end continued by an angular extension 2 which is substantially parallel to that of the blade B. This extension 2 is continued by tang 3 which is fitted within the handle member H.

As is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, the blade B and the portions 1 and 2 are all formed from one piece of material which is preferably stainless steel.

The construction of'the device as herein disclosed is one which shows the same having maximum of strength and with a rigidity desirable in connection with an implement of this kind. The Y tool is also one which can be maintained sanitary at all times and which shows a clean, smooth job, such as is desired by all restaurant and hotel owners.

From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a pancake turner constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well" adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated.

- I claim:

A pancake turner comprising a single elongated sheet of metal formed to provide an elongatedflat blade having a straight, transverse,

sharpened edge across one end, the other end edges and the second angled portion having its side edges converging more sharply than the side edges of the inclined portion, to the point of entrance of the second angled portion into the handle.
