Referring now to` the illustrative embodiment of thevinventionshown inFigs. y4 and5, the stem `holder is L,prcnrided with a, shaftmember 30 and Aafpin` member "3L secured thereto .for `engagement ina hook ,portion 3,2v atsthe `lower .endof the. shaft member,- similarly to the i embodiment just shownand: described. -The closed loop support 33 is` horizontally disposed ,adjacent theupfper end of'shaft member Biland is. firmly secured theretoJ as by solderingnorawelding. ,The` support member-334s made yof wire or similar* rigid maf teria] and provides a support for closed elastic loop 34, the reaches of which are passed through support 33 'on respective sides of the shaft 30. A curved cross support 35 is secured to the shaft 30 adjacent its lower end.

As shown in Fig. 4, the closed elastic loop 34 is stretched between the supports 33 and 35 to present loop portions 36 and 31 respectively adjacent those supports at the front of the stem holdv er. The stem is passed through theloops 35 and y to said loops for tightening the loops about the stem and holding the stem towards the shaft s member in close parallel relation thereto.

6.A stem holder comprising, in combination,

' a shaft member, a pair of spaced apart loops 31 and is thus held securely against the shaft member 30 by the closed elastic loop 34.

Referring now to the illustrative embodiment of the present invention shown in Figs. 6 and 7, there is again provided a shaft member 40 having anelongated pin 4| secured at its upper end for engagement in a curved hook portion 42 at the bottom vend of the shaft member. In the present embodiment of the invention an upper cross support 43 and a lower cross support 44 are secured to the shaft member 4ll in spaced apart relationship. The lower support 44 may be bent downwardly in a V-form. v

A closed elastic loop 45 is provided to be passed over the outwardly extending arms of support members 43 and 44 to present loop portions 46 andr 41 at the` front Yof the holder. As shown in Fig. 7 a stem is passed through the loops 46 and 41 and securely held againstthe length of shaft member 40. In this embodiment of the invention the stem may be easily secured by placing it against the shaft member 4D at the fro-nt of the holder, hooking the closed elastic loop 45 on the outwardly extending arms of the supports 43 and 44 to one side, 'and thereafter drawing the closed elastic loop 45 over the stem and hooking it on the arms of the supports at the opposite side.

The invention in its broader aspects is not limited to the specific mechanisms shown and described but departures may be made therefrom within the scope of the accompanying claims without departing from the principles of the invention and without sacrificing its chief advantages.

What I claim is:

1. A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a plurality of spaced apart supports on said memberY a loop on each support to surround a stem adjacentl the shaft member, and to hold said stem substantially parallel to said shaft member, and elastic means interconnecting the loops.

2. A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a plurality of spaced apart supports on said member, a loop on each support to surround a stem adjacent the shaft member, and to hold said stem substantially parallel to said shaft member, elastic means interconnecting the loops, and means for securing the shaft to wearing apparel. l,

3. A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a pair of spaced apart supports on said member, a loop for each support positioned on opposite sides of said supports to surround astem adjacent the shaft member, and elastic means interconnecting said loops to tighten the loops against the .stem and to hold it substantially parallel to said shaft member. 1

4. A stern holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, spaced apart supports on said member, and elastically connected loops one loop held to said shaft member by said supports to surround a stem adjacent said shaft member and to hold it substantially parallel to said' shaft member.

7. A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a rigid closed loop mounted on said shaft against unlimited axial movement, a.,

cross support on said shaft spaced apart from said rigid loop, and an elastic closed loop con-- nected to said rigid loop and about said shaft. member and spaced along said shaft member, whereby a stem adjacent the shaft member may be surrounded by said rigid loop and by said elastic loop when the elastic loop is hooked over said cross support and around said stem, so that said stem is held in substantially close parallel relation to said shaft member.

A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a support on said member, a rigid closed loop slidingly mounted on said support against substantial axial movement with respect to said member, a cross supporton said member spaced apart fromv said first support, and an elastic closed loop connected to said rigid loop, whereby a stem adjacent the shaft member may be surrounded by said rigid loop and by said elastic loop when hooked over said cross support, said stem being held in substantially close parallel relation to said shaft member.

A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a pair of spaced apart cross supportson said member, and an elastic closed loop over said supports held by the supports along the shaft member whereby a stem adjacent said member may be surrounded by portions of said closed elastic loop when hooked over said supports, so as to hold said stem in substantially close parallel relation to said shaft member.

10. A stem holder comprising, in combination, a shaft member, a closed rigid supporting loop secured to said member, a cross support secured to said member spaced apart from said supporting loop, and a closed elastic loop through said supporting loop and about said shaft to be passed over said cross support whereby a stem adjacent said member may be surrounded by portions of said closed elastic loop, when said elastic loop is hooked over said cross support, so as to hold said stem in substantially close parallel relation to said shaft member.
