This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in hanging supports for fountain syringes and the like,
The primary object of the invention is to provide a hanging support for fountain `syringes and the like wherein the support is in the form of an open sided casing to be suspended on a wall with the open side thereof facing the wall and with the sides ofthe casing having inclined edges for wall contact so that the closed side of the casing that may carry a pictorial representation r the like will be disclosed at an angle to the wall in simulation of a hanging picture with a fountain syringe, hot water bottle or the like suspended within the casing from the top wall thereof and entirely hidden from view, the casing comprising the hanging support being` reversibly positioned with respect to the wall of the room whenl the fountain syringe or the like is in service. v
A further object of the invention is to provide a hanging support for fountain syringes and the like of the foregoing character wherein a hook member secured within the casing to the top wall thereof constitutes a support for the fountain syringe, with an extension on the hook member projecting through the top wall of the casing with the extension spaced above and substantially parallelwith the topwall of thecasing and to which a suspension cord or chain is attached by means of a swivelled pulleyblock, the hanging support presenting 4the appearance of a wall picture when reversed with the fountain syringe or the like entirely hidden from view, while the pulley block support permits flat ycontact of either side of the casing with the wall.
With the above and other objects in View that will become apparent as the nature of the invention is betterunderstood, the same consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of a hanging support for fountain syringes and the like disclosing a pictorial representation on the front wall of the hanging support casing to create the impression of a wall picture;
Figure 2 is a rear perspective View of the hanging support with'a fountain syringe illustrated by dotted lines as mounted therein, the top wall of the hanging support casing having openings therein for the support of fountain syringe nozzles and further illustrating the inclined edges of the side walls of the casing for wall contact to present the front wall at an angle in simulation of a wall hung picture;
Figure 3 is a top plan View of the device;
Figure 4 isa vertical cross-sectional view taken on line 44 of Figure l, showing the hook within the casing of the hanging support for the suspension of a fountain syringe or the like and a suspension chain and swivel pulley hook attached to an extension on the block; and
Figure 5 is an enlarged horizontal fragmentary sectional View takenv on line 5--5 of Figure 1.
Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing, there is illustrated a hanging support for fountain syringes and the like in the form of a casing open at its rear side, being preferably of rectangular form in front elevation and including a front wall I0, a top wall II, and side walls I2.
The connection between the front wall l0 and Vtop wall I| includes an upwardly directed flange extension I3 at the forward edge of the top wall II engaged bythe upper edge flange I4 on the front- Wall I0. The rear edge of the top wall II is bent downwardly and upwardly upon itself to provide avreinforcing bead I5 while each end of the top wall I I carriesa downwardly bent flange Each side wall l2 ofthe casing is secured to the frontl wall n I0 thereof by means of an outwardly directed flange I1 engaged by an inwardly bent flange extension I8 on the front wall, the upper ends of the flange I8 overlying the flange I4 on the front wall I0 as shown in Figure 4. The upper ends of the side walls I2maybe secured in any suitable manner to the end flanges I6 depending from Athe top wall I I and the lower ends of the side walls terminate in spacedf rela-` tion to the lower end of the front wall with the latter bent upon itself as at I9, see Figure 4, to provide a reinforcing bead. extensions directed toward each other are provided at the free edges of the side walls I2 as shown at 20, with the free edges of said side walls I2 disposed at angles to the front wall I0 the top wall I I by means of the horizontal leg por- Reinforcing bead upon the pulley 21, the pulley block 26 being Y freely movable over the leg 25. A suspension chain 28 or the like supports the pulley block, f
26, and, of course, the hanging casing and said suspension chain may be wall or ceiling-anchored for the supportY of the casing. Y v' When the casing is suspended upon a wall indicated at W inFigure 4, the same' creates the appearance of a wall picture as indicated in AFigure 1 in view of the angulardisposition of the front wall I relative.- to the room wall W andrwhen the casing is so` disposed, the fountain syringe indicatednby the reference character S that is lsuspended upon the'hook 22 within the casing is entirely hidden from view. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the top wall I I of the casing is provided with spaced openings 29 for the support of fountain syringe accessories 30 indicated by dotted lines in Figure 2 that are Vhidden from View by the upstanding upper end ofthe front wall II andv v,theY lower settingrof the top wanv n ofthe casing.4 Y
When it is desired to use the fountain syringe, the` casing is reversed inposition against the wall Iljwith the wall I0 -of the casing atly engaging the wall while the open side of the casing iis 'exposed as illustrated in Figure 2.4 By the provision of the pulley block support for the casing, the Vupper leg 25 of the hook is freely movable through the VVpulley block so that either the side vedges of Atheside Walls I2 or the frontwall I0 of the casing will lie in flatengagement with the wall W. v From. the above detailed description of the in'- verdien',V it is believed that the 'construction and operation of the device willlat once be apparent, ,1;
and whilethere is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment ofthe invention, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes 'f ay be made therein such as will fallwithin the scope of the invention as claimed.
