This invention relates to new and useful improvements in shade holders and curtain supports and the primary object of the present invention is to provide a device particularly designed as to support a curtain, drape, or both.

Another important object of the present invention is the provision of a device that includes novel and improved means for supporting a curtain, drape, or both therefrom.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a shade supporting member that is punched from the anchor member which is secured to the window frame.

A still further purpose of the present invention is to provide a window shade, curtain holder, and/or drape holder that is simple and practical in construction, strong and reliable in use, relatively inexpensive to manufacture, and otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.

Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Figure 1 is a fragmentary perspective view of the upper left-hand corner of a window frame and showing the present invention applied in position thereto;

Figure 2 is a perspective view of the present invention;

Figure 3 is a fragmentary perspective view of the upper right-hand corner of a window frame showing the device applied thereto;

Figure 4 is an enlarged longitudinal horizontal sectional view taken on line 4- of Figure 1;

Figure 5 is a perspective view of the fastening means for securing the inner portion of the device to the window frame.

Referring now to the drawings in detail, wherein for the purpose of illustration, there is disclosed a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the numeral represents a substantially rectangular anchor plate having one terminal portion l2 bent inwardly to bear against the side edge M of a window casing l6.

Preferably punched outwardly from the plate I0 is a, window shade supportin bracket [8 provided with either an aperture 20 for receiving the axial peg of a window shade roller (not shown) or a slot 22 for receiving the spring mechanism of the window shade roller.

Secured to plate l0 in any suitable manner are arms 24 on which are fixedly mounted blocks 26 2 Claims. (Cl. 248254) provided with apertures 28 in which are engaged the inner terminal portions of substantially inverted S-shaped resilient curtain or drape engaging members 30. Set screws or the like 3| carried by the blocks 26 bear against the inner ends of members 30 for retaining the members in a vertically adjusted position.

The outwardly projecting end 32 of the body is provided with horizontally spaced apertures 34 that selectively engage the terminal portions of arms 36 integrally formed with cylindrical fastening members 38.

In practical use of the device, the portion l2 of plate I0 is secured to the side edge M of the window casing l6 by any suitable means and the portion l2 or a second plate I0 is secured to the opposite side edge of the window casing. Obviously the bracket l8 of one of these plates is provided with the aperture 20 for engaging the axial peg of a window shade roller and the bracket carried by the other plate is provided with the slot 22 for engaging the spring mechanism for the window shade roller.

The fastening or spacer member 38 is then positioned against the window casing behind the portion 32 with arms 36 extending outwardly through apertures 34. The outer ends of the arms are bent outwardly to retain member 38 in position thereto and so that the main portion of plate H) will be parallel to the vertical plane of the outer face of said casing.

A nail or the like 40 is then driven through the plate In, the aperture 42 provided in the segmental bottom 44 of the member 38 and into the casing.

The curtain or drape engaging members 30 are so designed as to be vertically adjustable about blocks 26 as an axis whereby the members 30 may support a curtain or retain a curtain rod thereon due to its upturned end portions 44 or between the loops formed thereby. Due to the resiliency of the members 30 almost any type of curtain rod may be applied thereto without slipping from its correct position. The members 36 may be removed from the blocks 26 if it becomes desirous to support only a shade roller by the device.

In view of the foregoing description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings it is believed that a clear understanding of the device will be quite apparent to those skilled in this art. A more detailed description is accordingly deemed unnecessary.

It is to be understood, however, that even though there is herein shown and described a preferred embodiment of the invention the same is susceptible to certain changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention as herein described and the scope of the appended claims.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

1. A window fixture comprising an anchor plate, a window shade supporting bracket carried by said plate and projecting outwardly from the outer face thereof, an arm fixed to and projecting outwardly from the outer face of said anchor plate, a block fixed to said arm having a socket provided therein, a curtain rod supporting arm having one end positioned in said socket, a set screw carried by said block engaging the end of said curtain rod supporting arm in said socket, and means carried by said plate for supporting the same parallel to the outer face of a window casing said means including a bearing member, and bendable arms carried by said bearing member, said anchor plate havin openings receiving said: bendable arms.

'4 2. The combination of claim 1 and means for anchoring said bearing member and said plate to a supporting structure, said means including a fastener extendable through said plate and said bearing member.
