The space within the drain partition is provided with drain holes 38 on each side thereof, as illustrated in Fig. 5, in order to permit the escape from the hollow drain partition of any iiuid that may escape thereinto from' either of the tank orv reservoir sections. This will serve to prevent contamination of the fluid in one tank by the fluid in the other tank in the event of leakage from the tanks around the `drive shaft which extends through the hollow drain partition.4
The drive or hanger units I4 are mounted on rods 42. One end of each of the rods is reduced and arranged in a socket provided in a mounting bracket 44 detachably secured to an end plate 26 by bolts 46, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7. Set screws 48 are employed to retain the ends of the rods 42 in the sockets in the mounting bracket 44. The
other ends of each of the rods 42 may be mounted f5 on the end wall 26 at the other end of the reservoir section in the same manner as that just described, or they may, as illustrated, be secured to the end wall 26 at the other end of the reesrvoir section by means of a screw 50 which is threadedly secured ina threaded socket in the end of the rod 42, and the head of which screw 50 is seated in a hole in the end wall 26.
The drive unit I4 comprises a frame 82 having holes or gui-des 52 which receive the rods 42 whereby the drive unit is depen-dingly supported by the rods within the reservoir. Each drive unit includes a rotary cam or eccentric 54 which is provided with a hexagonal hole for receiving the drive shaft 56. A connecting rod 58 is provided with a bearing or sleeve 60 which is journaled on the eccentric 54. The other end of the rod 58 is connected by a pin 62 to one end of a. rocker arm 64. The rocker arm or lever 64 is pivoted on a pin 66 carried on bracket arms formed on the frame member of the drive unit, and the other end 68 of the rocker arm 64 is bifurcated and arranged in straddling relationship relative to the actuating rod 10 of the pump piston 12 and between adjustable abutments rod 10 whereby rotation of the reciprocation of the piston 12.
The piston 12 forms a part of the pump unit l2 which further includes the pump body 18. The pump body 18 rests upon the upper surface 80 of the frame or hanger 82 of the drive unit 4, such frame 82 being provided with a plurality of tapped and threaded holes 84 which receive the threaded ends of bolts 86. The bolts 86 extend shaft 56 will cause through holes in the pump body 18 and the heads of such bolts are countersunk therein and bear against the pump body 18 for securely clamping the same vto the frame or hanger 82 whereby the pump unit is mounted on the hanger and secured in operative relation with the driving mechanism thereof.
The pump body is formed to provide a cylinder 88 in which the piston reciprocates. One end of the cylinder is provided with a port 90 which forms an inlet and discharge port therefor. Lubricant from the reservoir is supplied to the pump cylinder through lter 92, intake pipe 94, duct 96, past check valve 98, through sightv feed indin cated generally at |00, through duct |02, chamber |04, past check valves |06 and |08, and duct 0 which communicates with the port 90. The suction produced on the retractile stroke of the piston 12 communicated through the passage |02 to the interior ofthe sight feed |00 causes lubricant to ow upwardly through pipe 94, duct 96.

From the interior of thesight feed, the lubricant is conducted t0 thel cylinder 88 by the passage |02 and past check valves |06 and |08. A plug ||2 partially fills the duct H0 above the check valve |08 and serves to keep the same in operative relationship relative to its seat.
Lubricant discharged from the cylinder 88 on the discharge stroke of the piston escapes through port 90 and past check valves ||4 and ||6 into a coupling 8 to which a feed line (not shown) is connected for conducting lubricant to the bear- 5 ing to be lubricated.
Lubricant from the reservoir is sucked into the pump on the intake stroke of the piston and discharged from the pump on the discharge stroke thereof, the piston 12 being reciprocated by the drive shaft 56 as previously described. By adjusting the abutments 14 and 16 on the shaft 10, the stroke of the piston 12 may be varied.
While only a limited number of pump units I2 and drive units |4 therefor have been illustrated,
I contemplate that a number of such units may be arranged in side-by-side relationship along the length of the reservoir. In addition, inlieu.
vof employing a pump of the construction as illustrated, other types of standard pumps adapted for other lubricants and applications may be employed. In other words, the type of pump unit I2 illustrated is exemplary of a pump unit which may be detachably, operatively associated with the drive unit I4. If desirable or required, one type of lubricant may be employed in the reservoir section |6 and a different type of lubricant may be employed in the reservoir section I8.
In cases where one of the reservoir sections i6 may be relatively long, a hanger or frame |82, as shown in Fig. 4, may be employed. This frame is generally similar to that illustrated in Fig. 3, but includes a portion which is adapted to seat on the bottom wall 24 of the reservoir section so as to provide support for the rods 42 intermediate the mounting thereof. In other Words, a hanger like that shown at |82 may be employed as one of the drive units at the center of the reservoir section I6, while the other drive units may be as illustrated in Fig. 3. l
The partition and drain unit 20 is provided with bearings |30 in which a short shaft |32 is journaled, the shaft having drive heads |34 secured to the ends thereof which project beyond the bearings |30. Seals |36 are provided around the shaft |32 and thrust washers |38 are arranged between the drive heads |34 and the end walls of the partition unit 20.
A coupling sleeve |40 is provided between one end of the shaft 56 and the drive head |34, and a spacer or thrust sleeve |42 is suitably secured on the shaft adjacent the coupling sleeve |40. In this manner the drive shaft 66 in one of the reservoir sections is drivingly connected to the drive shaft in the other reservoir section so that both shafts and the drive units of the pump mechanism Vassociated therewith will be driven together.
The other end of the shaft 56, as shown in Fig. 2, is supported on a pilot shaft |44 which is journaled in a bearing |46 provided in a closure plate |48 for the aperture in the end wall 26, such closure plate being detachably secured to the end wall 26 by means of bolts |50. Obviously, any type of power and drive arrangement may be applied to the shafts |44 and |60 for driving the same inaccordance with the results desired from the lubricator.
It should be noted that the pawl carrier l54 as shown in Fig. 2 is in a different position from that as shown in Fig. v'1. When the closure plate i |48 isn removed, the shaft |44 will be removed therewith. The shaft 56 may then be withdrawn from the drive units, or it may be removed with the drive units and the rods 42 as a unit.
The top of the reservoir between the pump units I2 may be closed by plate or cover sections |62, certain of which may be provided with necks |64 by means of which the reservoir sections I6 and I 8 may be filled with lubricant.
While I have illustrated and described a preferred embodiment of my invention, it is understood that this is capable of modication, and I therefore do not wish to be limited to the precise details set forth but desire to avail myself of such changes and alterations as fall within the purview of the following claims.
I claim:
1. Lubricator construction comprising a pair of spaced and aligned llubricant reservoirs, each having an apertured end wall and a drive shaft, a pump driven by each of said shafts, a hollow partition sandwiched between and secured to both of said apertured end walls so as to form a unit with said reservoirs and closing the aperture in theesaznesandeairdrainiputletsfffromrthe:Space ,enclosedr-by said-walls.; 1

6. In a lubricator an elongated reservoir having rods extending lengthwise across the same and detachably mounted on the end walls of said reservoir, a hanger mounted on. said rods, driving mechanism including a shaft mounted on said hanger and a pump mounted on said hanger and including an operating element positioned to be actuated by said driving mechanism and an intake arranged to be supplied with lubricant from said reservoir.
'7. Lubricator reservoir construction comprising a channel-shaped sheet metal member defining the bottom and side Walls of a reservoir,
end plates formed of materially heavier stock than that of which said channel-shaped sheet metal member is formed, one of said end plates being secured within and at each end of said channel-shaped member and forming the end 40 walls thereof, and a pump and drive means thereeach of said end Walls so as to separate the contents of said reservoirs, said hollow partition including spaced wall portions provided with bearings, a shaft journaled in said bearings and connected to said drive shafts, and a drain outlet from the space enclosed by said walls.
2. Lubricator construction comprising a pair of spaced and aligned lubricant reservoirs, each having an end wall, 'a pump associated with each of said reservoirs for pumping lubricant therefrom, a hollow partition sandwiched between and secured to both of said end walls so as to form a unit with said reservoirs and so as to separate the contents of said reservoirs, said hollow partition including spaced wall portions provided with bearings,l and drive shaft means journaled in 4said bearings and connected to said pumps for operating the same and a drain outlet from the space enclosed by said walls.

Lubricator construction comprising a pair of aligned lubricant reservoirs, a pump associated with each of said reservoirs for pumping lubricant therefrom, a, hollow partition sandwiched between and secured to both of said reservoirs so as to form a unit therewith and separating the contents of said reservoirs, said hollow partition including spaced wall portions provided with bearings, drive shaft means journaled in said bear.- ings and connected to said pumps for operating for entirely supported on said end plates independently of said side walls, said pump having an intake arranged to be supplied with lubricant from said reservoir.
8. Lubricator construction comprising an elongated reservoir having bottom, end and side walls, said end walls being made more substantial than the side and bottom walls, frame means interconnecting said end walls and unattached to said side walls, a pump and drive means therefor supported on said end walls by said frame means independently of said side walls, a cover for said reservoir unattached to said pump and drive means and removable separately therefrom, said pump having an intake arranged to be supplied with lubricant 'from said reservoir.
9. Lubricator construction as defined in claim 8 wherein ,the side walls of said reservoir are formed of sheet metal. g

A lubricator pump and reservoir assembly comprising a pair of aligned lubricant reservoirs, each having an. end Wall, a pump associated with each of said reservoirs for pumping lubricant therefrom, said end walls forming at least part of a partition which is arranged between said reservoirs and secured to both of said reservoirs so as to form a unit with said reservoirs and so as to separate the contents of said reservoirs, said partition being provided with bearings, drive shaft 'means journaled in said bearings and connected to said pumps for operating the same, and means including shaft sealing means associated with said drive shaft and said partition to prevent the ow of lubricant along said drive shaft from one of said reservoirs to the other.
11. Lubricator construction comprising acase lit forming a reservoir, frame means secured L said case unit, a drive mounted on said frame sans, a pump unit mounted on said drive unit id having an operating element positioned to actuated by said drive unit, and an intake ranged to be supplied with lubricant from said servoir, said pump and drive units being con- :ucted and arranged so as to be readily deehable as a unit each from the other and from 10 id frame means and case unit, said pump unit ing disposed on the top of said drive unit and id case unit and arrangedv 'exteriorly of said se unit and reservoir with the exception of e intake.
