y Fig.' 6 is va fragmentaryvieW-in perspective of an end of the clamping band shown in Fig. 2, but with an alternate form of projecting lip.
Referring more particularly to the disclosure set forth in the illustrativeV embodiment of the invention shown in Figs. 1 to 5 of the drawing, thernovel holderY I is shown mounted between spaced circumferential beads or ridges 2, 2 formed on the circumference or periphery of a-receptacle 3 shown as provided with a pouring lip or spout Yil. This` receptacle may be voi any suitable oonstruction and configuration, but is preferably prog vided With an enlargement or spaced beads for accommodating the holder l.
The holder is constructed of a band 5 of lany interengagement, the invention comprehends a` bolt lil seating in the base of the end 6 and provided with flat sides ll, Il. This bolt passes through an elongated slot I2 in the end 1 of the parting from the spirit of the invention; and the right is hereby'reserved to make all such changes as 'fairly fall vvithinrthe scope of the following claims,Y Y f y The invention Vs'llereby claimedv as follows: l. 2. A yholderfo'r a receptacle comprising a re- .silientband having free endsk adapted to adjustably overlap, tlie outer'suriace of one end and the inner surface ofthe otherr end, respectively,
having complementary interlocking projections, Y
Y means to facilitate adjustment of the `ends oi said band in Vinterloclsing.; engagement, and means for securing the ends .of Said band in interlocking engagement. Y

having complementary interlocking projections, means for drawing said ends into overlapping relation with the band tightly encompassing the vperiphery of the receptacle, and means for securing the ends of said band in interlocking engagement 4. In vcombination-With a receptacle, a holder for said receptacle for facilitating lifting, carrying and pouring the contents therefrom,' comprising aband adapted to adjustably encompass the receptacle, said band being split and having substantially flat free ends in overlapping en-Y gagement around the periphery ofthe receptacle, said free ends having complementary projections adapted to interlock over a wide range of adjustment to encompass receptaclesV of diiferentlsizes,
means for locking the free ends in adjusted posisaid band, the other end of said band beingY pro-V Y vided with anY elongated slot for receiving said screw threaded member, a member extending outwardly from said band near each end thereof Vand providing for drawing the ends of the band into overlapping relationship tightly to encompass the receptacle, and means on said screw threaded member for locking the serrated portions ofthe band together.v
' 6. A" holder for a receptacle comprising a resilient'band having substantially flat free ends *adapted to overlap over a wide range of adjust- Vmentito encompass receptacles of different sizes,
Vthe outei` surface Yoffene of said free ends and the Vinner surface of the other end, respectively, having complementary transverse serrations adapted to interlock when overlapped, and means for securing the ends of said band in overlapping 'locking engagement, each of said ends having an opening therein adapted to receive said securing means, said securing means comprising a bolt having av shank portion with a flat side, and one of the openings in the band having a atfside cooperating with said flat side ofthe bolt whereby rotation of the bolt is avoided.
