1 Claim.
This invention relates to buttons and more particularly to a one-piece all-plastic molded button having a projecting eye formed integral therewith.
One object of the present invention is to provide an all-plastic molded integral eye button of the above nature which may be manufactured in a press without the use of drilling or punching mechanisms to form the aperture in the eye.
This application is adivision of our prior application Serial No. 475,802, filed February 13, 1943, entitled: All-plastic molded button and apparatus for making same, patented January 23, 1945, No. 2,367,962.
A further object is to provide an all-plastic molded eye button of the above nature which will be simple in construction, inexpensive to manuiacture, easy to manipulate, compact, and very eflicient and durable in use.
With these and other objects in view, there has been illustrated on th accompanying drawing one form in which the invention may be conveniently embodied in practice.
In the drawing the single figure represents a perspective inverted view of an all-plastic integral eye button embodying the invention.
Referring now to the drawing in which like reference numerals denote corresponding parts throughout the several views, the numeral I generally indicates an improved all-plastic integral eye button manufactured by a molding apparatus embodying the invention disclosed in the parent application above referred to.
The button I 0 is provided with an embossed top surface ll,an intermediate body l2, andacircular integral eye l3 projecting rearwardly from the body at the central part thereof, said eye being ring-shaped, and all of the parts of said button comprising a single unitary piece of molded plas tic material.
It will be understood that any suitable plastic material may be employed for molding the improvedall-plastic button of the present invention, and that said material may be either thermo-setting" or thermo-plastic" as desired. Preferably, however, the molding material will be 01 the type known as urea plastic composition.
While there has been disclosed in this specification one form in which the invention may be embodied, it is to be understood that this form is shown for the purpose of illustration only, and that the invention is not to be limited. to the specific disclosures but may be modified and embodied in various other forms without departing from its spirit. In short, the invention includes all the modifications and embodiments coming within the scope of the following claim.
Having thus fully described th invention, what is claimed s new and for which it is desired to secure Letters Patent is:
In a button, a solid body section, a short central 4 neck integral with and adjoining said body section. and a ring-shaped eye section located at right angles and substantially tangent to the back of said body section, said neck being enlarged and integrally connected with said eye section, all parts of said button comprising a single unitary piece or plastic molded composition.
