3 Claims.
Th present invention relates to new and useful improvements in trousers supporters, and has for its primary object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a device of this character which will maintain the trousers at the correct height at all times, and which, when in use, will be concealed from view. I
Another very important object of the invention is to provide a supporter of the aforementioned several views, and wherein:
Figure 1 is a view in front elevation showing a trousers supporter constructed in accordance with the present invention mounted in position ready for use.
Figure 2 is a view in front elevation of a portion of the device. I
Figure 3 is'a cross sectional view through the device, showing same inuse.
Figure 4 is a detail view in horizontal section, taken substantially on the line 4-4 of Figure 2. Figure 5 is a perspective view of a portion of one of the wire connectors.
a Figure 6 is-a detail view in elevation, showing the method of connecting the ends of the connectors to the upper belt.
Referring now to' the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated comprises a flexible Asuitable buckle 2 adjustably connects the ends of the lower belt I.
' Rising from the belt I at spaced points are resilent stays 3 of suitable material. are enclosed in fabric covers 4. The stays 3 sup- The stays 3 resilient tape or strip 1 which isenclosed in a fabric cover 8.
Mounted on the upper belt 5, at longitudinally spaced points, are resilient connectors 9 for mounting the trousers, as at ID, on the supporter.
1 The connectors 9 include wires II of suitable length having formed at spaced points therein depending, horizontally elongated loops I2 in which the buttons I3 in the waistband I4 of the trousers II] are selectively and adjustably engageable. The wires I I further include coils I5 between the loops I2, which coils are stitched to the belt 5'.
The outer ends of the outermost wires II extend downwardly and terminate in elongated eyes constituting guides I6. The end portions of the upper belt 5 are folded diagonally back and downwardly, as at I1, and are stitched at I8 to the lower belt I beneath the outermost stays 3. The other end portions of the wires I l are bent upon themselves and secured in hooks I9 (see Fig. 6) on the upper belt 5.
It is thought that the manner of using the de-' vice will be readily apparent from a consideration of the foregoing. Briefly, the lower belt I is secured around the body on or adjacent the hips, substantially as seen in Figurel of the drawings. The trousers ID are then put on and the buttons I3 are engaged in the correct loops I2. The series of loops I2 adapt the supporter 'to various sizes of trousers and difierent arrangements of buttons. Also, the horizontal elongation of the loops I2 permits the trousers to readily adjust themselves for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
It is believed that the many advantages of a trousers supporter constructed in accordance with the present invention will be readily understood, and although a preferred embod ment of the device is as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that changes in the details of conport a resilient upper belt 5 in spaced relation above the lower belt I Toward this end, the fabric covers! include, on their upper ends, integral tongues 6 which are-looped around the upper belt 5 and stitched, as illustrated to advan- The upper belt 5,which is comparatively narrow, comprises a struction and in the combination and arrange-- ment of parts may be resorted to which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
What is claimed is:
1. A trousers supporter comprising a lower belt, means for adjustably connecting the ends of said lower belt, stays rising from the lower belt, an upper belt mounted on the stays, said upper belt including rearwardly and downwardly folded end portions secured to the lower belt, and means extending circumferentially along one surface of the upper belt for detachably connecting a pair of trousers to the upper belt at selective circumferential parts of the belt.
stitched to the upper belt, and means for connecting the ends of the lower belt.
3. A trousers supporter of the character described comprising a lower belt, stays rising from said lower belt, an upper belt attached to one surface of the stays, and wires mounted on the upper belt, said wires including depending loops for the reception of buttons on the trousers for connecting said trousers to the upper belt, certain of said wires further including, on one end, elongated guides, the end portions of the upper belt extending through said guides and being secured to the lower belt.
