The portion [6 is apertured at 19 opposite the side which is attached to the hinge flap l'l.
The hollow body of the display is formed by securing the pasting panel I4- to the inner surface of the end panel or side 12 and the bracing member 16 is mounted therein by securing in any suitable mannersuch as by pasting the hinge flap I! to the inner surface of one of the panels l2 at a position where the bracing member is substantially of the same shape and size as a cross section of the hollow pyramidal body inexpanded position.
A suspending member 20 suchj as a stringfis device is collapsed as shown in Fig. 3 with the bracing member 5 swung down to lie flat between opposed panels l2", l2, thedevice, can' be expanded to display position by simply exerting a pull upon the suspending member 20 to swing the bracing member 16 to'the position shown in Fig. 5." Itis intended to support the display device in a display position by means of the suspending member 2Q, a ring 2| attached to the end thereof being engaged over a suitable sup-; port 22 thereby to hold the body of the display device in expanded position.
When it is desired to collapse the expanded display device to insure ease in handling, trans-, porting and shipping andso that it willoccupy a minimum amount of space, the bracing memher It is retracted'or swung from the bracing position by a pull on any suitable means attached to the bracing member;suchasfastring 23 also secured to the bracing member by tying through the aperture 19. e I The display device may be provided 'withany suitable means for supporting thereon merchandise to be displayed." For'example, the'panels may be provided with a plurality of fingers or tongues 2424'which areformed by slitting the stiff material of the body and bending outward ly' the so-formed fingers or tongues f'asshown'i Such a structure is particularly adapted for the display of packets of ribbon 25-25 having binding bands 26-26 surrounding theirmid-sections and adapted to be engaged over jthe'tongues or fingers 24-24. It will be understo'od,flhowever, that any suitable means of supporting mer'chan dise upon, the-outer surfaces of the'body'ofthe display device may be usedand that the device isadapted fordisplay of "a variety ofv types of merchandise and article in a mannerparticularly adapted to ready inspection. and selection.
Itwill thus be seen. that the presentin'ventlon efficiently attains the objects set forth above and since certain changes may be made in the above construction and different embodiments of the invention could be made without departingfrom the scope thereof, it is intended that all matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawing shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense. It is also to be understood that the following claims are intended to cover all of the generic and specific features of the invention herein described, and all statements of the scope of the invention which, as a matter of language, might be said to fall therebetween. f v Having described my invention, what I claim as newand' desire to secure by Letters Patent, iszj 1.
