This application is similar to my Patent 2,075,068 (Illuminating means for indicating instruments) in that both provide means whereby Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view illustrating vanother form of the invention, with the warning lamp located in the corner lug 'of an instrument.

There is thus provided a novel removable structure adapted for use as a warning or indie eating lamp whereby thesaid lamp is 'energized upon insertion or partial insertion of, the structure within the receptacle, socket or instrument casing.` v
Referring now to the drawing, and more particularly to Figure 1, the lamp bulb I is mounted permanently in the protective member 2, with y the reector 3 constructed as an integral part of the assembly. The knurled portion l acts 'asa thumb hold for inserting the warning lamp assembly into itsreceptacle 5. An insulating bushling 6 ,(see also Fig. 2)- extends within the member'Z and supports an end contact (not in a position to be seen inthis figure but' similar to the contact 20 shown in Fig. 2). Referring now to Figures 4 and 5, the commercial instrument lamp 3| is installed in the protective mount 2 by means of insulating bushing 5. Although several embodiments of the invention are illustrated and described, various changes which will now appear to those skilled in the art, may be made in the form and relative arrangement of the various parts withoutrdeparting from the spirit and scope of the invention. Reference is therefore to be had to the appended claims for a denition of the limits of said invention.
What is claimed is:
threads on said member being adapted to engage complementary threads in an `opening in, said panel or the like,a ange on said one end of said member adapted to seat against the face of said panel, the terminals of said lamp bulb being connectedl to contactsV on said member, and said contacts being adapted to engage complementary contact means on said panel or the like when said lamp is mounted in said panel. 2.'A miniature warning lamp device adapted for mounting in an instrument lug or the like,` comprising a tubular metallic protective member externally threaded for mounting the device and havinga bore of the approximate size of a miniature lamp bulb, a miniature lamp bulb housed within said bore and adapted to 'emit light from one end of said tubular member. a hanged head on said one end of said member, an opening in said head extending into said bore adjacent said lamp bulb so as to expose a portion of said bulb, a closure for said bore on the other end of said member, said closure including a contact element, an electrical connection from said lamp bulb to said metallic protective member, and an electrical connection from said lamp bulb to said contact element, all parts of said device except said iianged head being contained within the radial limits of said threaded tubular member whereby said device may be readily in-v serted in, or removed from, the front side of an instrument lug or the like, as a complete unit.
