This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a twin rocker and rotating toy device.
The invention hasfor an object the construction of a device as mentioned to be characterized by a body for supporting rotary device mounted upon said body and adapted to be rotated in one direction bya'novel means when the see-saw board whichispivotally mounted on said bodyis rocked up and down.
Still further the invention proposes to characterize the driving means for therotary device by drums mounted on a vertical shaftconnected with the device, and cords wound on said drums in opposite directions and connected with oppositely disposed arms associated with each other in a particular manner.
Still further the-invention proposes an arrangement by whichthe positions of the levers may be varied for varying the speedwith which the rotary device is driven as the see-saw is rocked.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, and to the appended claimsin which thevarious novel features ofthe invention are more particularly :set forth.

The twin rocker and rotary toy device, according to this invention, .comprises-a body lllfor supporting a see-saw board M. This see-saw view taken .on the line a see-saw-board, and a 7 board is pivotally mounted on the body by a trunnion l2. This trunnion i2 is supported on a-pair .of spaced angle irons l3 and l3 (see Fig. 10) which are mounted on a partition l4 supported within the body ill. The see-saw board Il may pivot one way or the other, asindicated by the dot and dashlines in Fig. 2 and the'fulllines in Figs. 4 and 6.
The outer ends of the see-saw board H are provided with seat members l5 upon which children may sit. These seat members are held fixed in adjusted positions by clamps I6 so that they may be moved inwards or outwards to properly counterbalance the see-saw board for children of different weights. Each seat structure 15 has a head portion l5 representing a horses head anda transversebar 15 engaged through the head and providing handles by which achild may hold on.
A rotary device I! is mounted on the top of the body lot- This rotary device comprises an annular ring I! supported by several spokes [8 arranged within the body ill and connected with a common hub I9 fixedly mounted on a tubular drive shaft 2|]. This tubular drive shaft is rotative on a stationary supporting shaft 2|. The upper end of the stationary shaft 2| is provided with a flange member 22 which supportsa central stationary disc 23 arranged within the annular movable member l'l Upon this stationary disc 23 there is a flag pedestal 24 which supports a flag post 25 on which there is aflag 26. .A plurality of small figures 21 21 etc., are mounted on the annular member I! (see Fig. 4) and are adapted to move when the rotary device operates. I
The body in comprises a hollow structure supported. on legs Ill which may bemountedon the ground. On diametrically opposite sides the body II] is provided withopenings Ill through which the see-saw board I! extends. Above each of these openings there is a door Ill which may be opened to give access to the interior parts which drive the rotary device.
The driving mechanism includes several blocks 30 mounted on a partition 3!.
. body l0. Thispartition is formed with slots 32 through which clamp bolts 33 pass. These clamp bolts are connected with the .blocks3l] and are adapted tohold the blocks fixed. The partitions I4 and3i are connected together by stationary braces '34. These braces 34 have cutout areas (ill into. which portions of theblocks 30 .may engage.
.Arms 35. and 35 are pivotallvmounted at their lowerends on the adjustableiblocksiii and for the rotary device which are adjustably mounted within the intermediate of their ends are provided with slots 36 into which pins 31 from the see-saw board ll extend. These pins 31 pass through said slots 36, when the see-saw board is rocked, causing the arms 35 and 35 to swing backwards and forwards. Cords 38* and 38 are connected with the arms 35 and 35 respectively and are wound in opposite directions upon drums 39 which are freely rotative on the hollow shaft 20. Adjacent each drum 39 there is a ratchet wheel 40 keyed to the hollow shaft 20 and is engaged by a pawl 4| mounted on the drum. The arrangement is such that when the drum is turned in one direction the ratchet 4! will idle on theratchet wheel, but when turned in the other direction rotations will be transmitted shaft 20.
The stationary shaft 2i passes through an elongated opening 43 in the see-saw board I] so as not to interfere withv the rocking of the board. The shaft 2| is provided with a bottom flange 2| fixedly mounted on the partition 3| so that the shaft 2| is fixedly supported. Intermediate of its ends the shaft 2| is provided with a flange portion 2 I b which is adapted to support the drums 39 forming a thrust bearing.
The operation of the device is as follows:-
Children may sit on the ends of the see-saw board II, on the seats IS, in the customary seesaw fashion and operate the see-saw by causing it to rock up and down. This rocking motion is transmitted by the pins 31 engaging the slots '36 in the arms 35 and 35 causing the arms to swing inwards and outwards. of arms 35 and 35 is connected with cords 38 and 38 respectively, wound in opposite directions on the drum 39, the drum 39 will be caused to rotate first in one direction and then in the other direction as the see-saw rocks.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new; and desire to secure by United States Letters'Patent is:
'1. A twin rocker and rotary toy device comprising a body forsupporting a see-saw board, a see-saw board pivotally mounted on said body, blocks adjustably mounted on said body longitudinally of said board, arms pivotally mounted on said blocks and extending upwards and formed with slots extending longitudinally thereof, pins mounted on said see-saw board and engaging said slots to swing said arms as the said board is rocked, a rotary device mounted on said body and having a drive shaft, drums rotative on said shaft, and ratchets associated with said drums and shaft for driving said shaft in one direction as said drums swing; said rotary device comprising an annular member supported by spokes connected with a common hub mounted on said drive shaft.

A, twin rocker and rotary toy device comprising a body for supporting a see-saw board, a see-saw board pivotally mounted on said body, blocks adjustably mounted on said body longitudinally of said board, arms pivotally mounted on said blocks and extending upwards and formed with slots extending longitudinally thereof, pins mounted on said see-saw board and engaging said slots to swing said arms as the said board is rocked, a rotary device mounted on said body and having a drive shaft, drumsrotative on saidshaft, and ratchets associated with said drums and shaft for driving said shaft in one direction as said drums swing, said rotary device comprising an annular member supported by spokes connected with a common hub mounted on said drive shaft, said drive shaft being hollow and rotatively mounted on a fixed solid shaft.
5. -A twin rocker and rotary 'toy device comprising a body for supporting a see-saw board, a see-saw board pivotally mounted on said body, blocks adjustably mounted on said body longitudinallyof said board, arms pivotally mounted on said blocks and extending upwards and formed with slots extending longitudinally thereof, pins mounted on said see-saw'board and engaging said slots to swing said arms as the said board 'is rocked, a rotary device mounted on said body and having a drive shaft, drums rotative on said shaft, and ratchets associated with said drums and shaft for driving said shaft in one direction as said drums swing, said rotary device comprising'an annular member supported -by spokes connected with a common hub mounted on said drive shaft, said drive shaft being hollow and rotatively mounted on a fixed solid shaft, said solid shaft being fixedly mounted on a partition mounted within said body.

A twin rocker and rotary toy device comprising a body for supporting a see-saw board, a see-saw board pivotally mounted on said body, blocks adjustably mounted on said body longitudinally of said board, arms pivotally mounted on said blocks and extending upwards and formed with slots extending longitudinally thereof, pins mounted on said see-saw board and engaging said slots to swing said arms as the said body is rocked, a rotary device mounted on said body and having a drive shaft, drums rotative on said shaft, ratchets associated with said drums and shaft for driving said shaft in one direction as said drums swing, said arms being arranged in opposite pairs, cords connected to said pairs of arms and to said drums and wound in opposite directions on said drums.
