Positioned above the skirts 2i and surrounding the socket member 25 is a second spacer 31 adapted to retain the skirts in spaced relation with respect to the upper end portion of the socket member 25 in which, if desired, a finishing sleeve or ring 32 may be positioned and provided with a laterally extending flange portion 33 adapted to overlie the upper edges of the socket member 25 and spacer 3|.
As illustrated in Fig. 3, the device is well adapted for use in conjunction with an electric bulb 34, which may be positioned in the upper end of a tubular member 35 adapted to simulate a candle and connected to a suitable source of current supply by means of electrical conductors 36, which may extend downwardly through the member 35 and laterally through the openings 26 and 29 formed in the socket member 25 and lower spacer 28, respectively.
The fragmentary view shown in Fig. 5 illustrates the manner of positioning an ordinary candle 31 in the structure.
In Fig. 6 is illustrated a cup-like member, indicated as a whole by the numeral 38 and provided with a bottom portion 39 and a laterally extending flange M, the cup-like member 38 being adapted, if desired, to replace the finishing ring 32 illustrated in Fig. 5 in which case the candle 31 would rest on the bottom 39 of the cup-like member 38 instead of extending to the extreme lower end or bottom of the socket 25.
Obviously, the present invention is not limited to the precise construction and arrangement shown and described as the same may be variously modified. Moreover, all the features of the invention need not be used conjointly as the same may be used to advantage in variously difierent combinations and sub-combinations.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. An ornament comprising an elongated socket, a plurality of one-piece ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket in spaced relation to each other intermediate the ends of the socket, a plurality of spacers surrounding said socket and positioned, respectively, between the lowermost of said skirts and the base of said socket and between the upper end thereof and the respective skirts, each of said skirts extending downwardly to conceal the respective subjacent spacers, a collar having an annular portion in said socket for resisting lateral displacement of the collar and socket, and a flange on said collar overlying the top of the socket and the upper edge of the uppermost spacer.
2. An ornament comprising a base having a recess therein and a laterally extending passage communicating with said recess, an elongated tubular socket having an opening therein communicating with said passage and positioned in said recess, a pluralityof one-piece ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted, respectively, to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket in spaced relation to each other intermediate the ends of the socket, and a plurality of spacers surrounding-said socket and positioned, respectively, between the lowermost skirt and said base and between the upper end of the socket and the respective skirts, said socket having a plurality of spaced apertures therein.
3. An ornament comprising a base having a recess therein and a laterally extending passage communicating with said recess, an elongated tubular socket having an opening therein communicating with said passage and positioned in said recess, a plurality of one-piece ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted, respectively, to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket in spaced relation to each other intermediate the ends of the socket, and a plurality of spacers surrounding said socket and positioned, respectively, between the lowermost skirt and said base and between the upper end of the socket and the respective skirts, said socket having a plurality of vertically spaced apertures therein positioned adjacent said skirts.
4. An ornament comprising a base, an elongated socket having a laterally extending opening therein mounted on said base, a plurality of one-piece ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted, respectively, to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround said socket intermediate its ends and to extend downwardly from their mounting, a tubular spacer between said skirts and the base, said spacer having a laterally extending opening therein positioned adjacent the opening in said socket, and a second spacer positioned on said socket between the upper end thereof and said skirts.
5. An ornament comprising an elongated socket having a plurality of longitudinally spaced apertures formed therein, a plurality of onepiece downwardly extending ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket intermediate its ends, a plurality of spacers surrounding said socket and positioned, respectively, between the respective skirts and the base of said socket and between the upper end thereof and said skirts, the lowermost edges of the respective skirts extending to approximately the horizontal planes of the respective subjacent apertures for concealing the respective subjacent spacers and apertures.
6. An ornament comprising an elongated socket having a plurality of longitudinally spaced apertures formed therein, a plurality of one-piece downwardly extending ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket intermediate its ends and adjacent the respective apertures formed in said socket, and a plurality of spacers surrounding said socket and positioned, respectively, between the respective skirts and the base or" said socket and between the upper end thereof and said skirts, the lowermost edges of the respective skirts extending below the horizontal planes of the respective subjacent apertures for concealing the respective subjacent spacers and apertures.

An ornament comprising an elongated socket having a plurality of longitudinally spaced apertures formed therein, a plurality of one-piece downwardly extending ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted to receive said socket and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket intermediate its ends and below the respective apertures formed in said socket, and a plurality or" spacers surrounding said socket and positioned, respectively, between the respective skirts and the base of said socket and between the upper end thereof and said skirts, the lowermost edges of the respective skirts extending below the horizontal planes of the respective subjacent apertures for concealing the respective subjacent spacers and apertures.
8. An ornament comprising an elongated socket member having a, plurality of longitudinally spaced laterally extending apertures formed therein, a plurality of one-piece downwardly extending ornamental skirts having apertures therein adapted to receive said socket member and mounted thereon in a manner to surround the socket member intermediate its ends adjacent and below the respective apertures formed in said socket member, a plurality of spacers surrounding said socket member and positioned, re-
spectively, between the respective skirts and the base of said socket member and between the upper end thereof and said skirts, a plurality of electrical conductors in said socket member and having one end portion of each conductor extending outwardly through the respective apertures formed in said socket member, and electric light bulbs operatively connected to the outwardly extending portions of said conductors, the lowermost edges of the respective skirts extending below the horizontal planes of the respective subjacent apertures for concealing the respective subjacent apertures, spacers and bulbs beneath said skirts.
