Ohio, have invented a 110W and useful Improvement in Ventilating-Stoves; and I d0 hereby declare that the following is a full, c1ear, and exact description of the s2urne, reference being had t0 the accompanying drawings, forming 21 part 0f this specification, in whi0h- Figu1'e l, is a perspective view 0f my 1111- proved st0ve, and Fig. 2, is a vertical secti011 0f the san1e.

My invention embraces tl1e arrangement consisting of the conczwe bed 01 ash pit 0f larger diameter than t11e grate und c0n structed with supporting lugs 01 ledges; sen1i-spherical 0pen top-legged-grate 01 fire chamber with draft space existing between 113 and the 21511 pit 01 bed, and fiaring stove pipe appearing 21s a continuation 0f the grate and furnished with a transverse feed and draft d001 and arranged above the fire grate 01 chamber und mac1e adjustable in a vertical 11110 with the fire grate 011 21 vertical standard, all for the purposes hereinafter st-ated.

D, is a section 0f stove pipe. This secti0n 0f pipe is fitted 100se1y ab ics upper 011d over the 0t11e1 portion 0f the pipe so as t0 be capable 0-f belng moved freely up and d0w11. Its IOWG1 end is lllilde flaring 01 partly spherical so as t0 have in its outline, 21 similar f0rm as thah 0f the fire 01121111- ber, und thus when applied ap-pear as 21 continuation 0f the fi1e 0hamber.

E, is a vertical standard projecting up from the base of the ash pit. T0 t-his standard, the movable section 0f pipe is attached by means 0f an eye c, und set screw (Z, as sho-wn. By thus arranging the 1110V- ab1e section 0f pipe, it 02111 be raise 01 lowered 011 15110 Standard and thus made t0 create greater 01 less drz1ft anc1 t0 perfect1y vent-ilate the 100n1. By raising the section 0f pipe, the upper par 0f tl1e fire is exposed 2111d thus ligl1t and comf0rt afiorded. T110 draft is decreased, but the ventilation incveased. By lowering the section 0-f pipe the top 0f the fire is hidden and the venti1ati0n in1pair0d, but the draft increased. T110 con1plete lowering of the pipe only takes place when the fire is being started and 011 ret-iring t0 bed.

F, is a d00r in t11e secti0n of pipe for the introduction 0f fue1. This intermediate C1001, also, by being left open when the pipe is completely d0wn in order t0 insure safety, Will destroy the draft t0 0110 fi1e 011211111101 and thus prevent the fuel being rapidly 0011- sumed during the nighc.
