Description
April 21, 1936. W, LEMOINE 2,038,371
SOAP POWDER DISPENSER Filed May 15, 1955 INVENTOR.
By Jw fiedwlf A TTORNEYS.
Patented Apr. 21, 1936 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2,038,371 SOAP POWDER DISPENSER Wilfred Lemoine, Norwich, Conn.
Application May 15, 1935, Serial No. 21,643 3 Claims. (01. 22 164) My invention relates to dispensers, and more particularly to soap dispensers and the like, where it is desired to deliver a certain amount of the material, as required. It applies more directly to powder dispensers of soap, and can be regulated at will by the user.
The object of the invention is to so construct the device that the material to be used may be placed in the same, and when exhausted can be replenished without trouble. A further object is to provide a dispenser that will be durable, may be easily and cheaply manufactured, and
the parts comprising the same may be repaired or renewed without much trouble. It may be attached to any bracket or support, not shown.
In the drawing forming a part of this specification, and in which like symbols of reference represent corresponding parts in the several views:-
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view, illustrating the interior of the same, and;
Figure 2 a transverse section of the same showing the screw cap and its adjacent parts.
In the drawing l represents the container, preferably of glass; 2 a screw cap, adapted to be detached from the container when necessary; and 3 a rotatable stud projecting through the screw cap. 5 is a thumb lever on the outer pro- 0 jecting end of the stud 3. The lever 5 operates the movable parts within. In its normal position the lever 5 abuts a stop- 6, which is on the cover or cap 2.
l is a cover-plate operating within cap 2; 8 a hole in the cover-plate I; and 9 a hole in cap 2, the same adapted to register with hole 8 when the device is in operative position. For the purpose of freeing the soap powder in the container a pair of flexible agitators 4 and 4 is provided. These agitators are shown in edge and front View in Figure 1.
Attached to the upper surface of plate 1 by any well known means, as rivets, solder, etc. is a scraper In, which causes a limited amount of powder to be brought forward in a loosened condition to ,dropthrough the superimposed holes when lever 5 is operated.
The operation of the device will be apparent from the foregoing description. In its inoperative condition, as shown in Fig.' 2, the plate I seals the perforation 9. When it is desired to use the device the lever 5 is operated to register the perforations, the material being carried forward by scraper l0, and the agitators rotated.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:-
l. A soap powder dispenser, comprising a container, agitators within the container, an outlet in the base of the container for material, a coverplate carrying a scraper for controlling the outlet and material, a stud supporting the agitators and adapted to rotate the cover plate, and a lever to rotate the stud and control the outlet.
2. A soap powder dispenser, comprising a container, a cap for the same, said cap formed with an outlet, a stud journaled in the cap, agitators carried by the stud, a cover-plate operating on the cap, said cover-plate having an outlet adapted to register with the outlet of the cap, a scraper rigidly attached to said cover-plate adjacent the outlet opening therein to convey the material to the outlet opening in said cap, and a lever connected to the stud and adapted to operate the cover-plate and agitators.
3. A soap powder dispenser, comprising a container, a cap for the same, said cap formed with an outlet, a stud journaled in the cap, agitators carried by the stud, a cover-plate operating on the cap, a scraper connected to the cover-plate adjacent the outlet, said cover-plate having an outlet adapted to register with the outlet of the cap, and a lever connected to the stud and adapted tooperate the cover-plate and agitators.
WILFRED LEMOINE.
