In a vacuum cleaner dust bag emptying means, the combination with a conventional open ended vacuum cleaner dust bag-of an insert memsaid insert member being an elliptical band adapted to fit into the open end of the conventional dust' bag, means for securing saiddust bag in said groove in said insert member, the

' upper edge of said insert member being turned outwardly in flanged form,- a cover member provided with downwardly eirtended guide members adapted to flt into the upper edge .of said insert member, a gasket interposed between said cover member and the upper edge of said insert mem her, and spring clip members secured to said insert member and adapted to engage said cover member foriholding said cover member in secured relation with said insert member butreadily'removable therefrom. 7. In a vacuum cleaner dust bag emptying means, the combination with a conventional open ended vacuum cleaner dust bag of an ,ber provided with a groove near its lower side;
