Abstract
A mat assembly includes a yoga mat adapted to be arranged in a straight configuration and a rolled configuration. In the straight configuration, the yoga mat facilitates user to perform exercise. The mat assembly further includes a cover to receive the yoga mat in the rolled configuration to enable a use of the mat assembly as a pillow.
Description
- The present disclosure relates, generally, to a mat assembly, and more particularly to a mat assembly having a yoga mat and a cover suitable to be used as a travel pillow.
- Generally, most of the seats available on public transportation provide such a cramped environment that it is almost impossible to get comfortable, especially for long periods of time. Furthermore, yoga practitioners who are avid travelers have great difficulty carrying their yoga mats around or storing their yoga mats around, because a comfortable yoga mat is thicker, and it needs to be rolled. Rolled yoga mats are almost impossible to fit in any purse, a backpack, or a carry-on luggage bag, thus making them difficult to travel with. Such unorganized belonging items may be cumbersome to carry when traveling which is unpleasant for a user and each item has only a single specific use, so it requires undue effort to move and use.
- According to an aspect of the disclosure, a mat assembly is disclosed. The mat assembly includes a yoga mat adapted to be arranged in a straight configuration and a rolled configuration. In the straight configuration, the yoga mat facilitates a user to perform exercise. The mat assembly further includes a cover to receive the yoga mat in the rolled configuration to enable a use of the mat assembly as a pillow.
- In some embodiments, the cover includes an opening to enable an insertion of the yoga mat, arranged in the rolled configuration, inside the cover and a removal of the yoga mat from the cover.
- In some embodiments, the cover includes a closure to selectively open and close the opening.
- In some embodiments, the closure includes a zipper.
- In some embodiments, the cover includes a U-shape.
- In some embodiments, the cover includes a pair of clips adapted to be removably engaged with each other to keep the cover in the U-shape when the mat is arranged inside the cover.
-
FIG. 1 illustrates a top perspective view of a yoga mat arranged in a straight configuration, in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure; -
FIG. 2 illustrates a perspective of the yoga mat ofFIG. 1 arranged in a rolled configuration, in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure; and -
FIG. 3 illustrates a mat assembly arranged as a pillow and having a cover and the yoga mat ofFIG. 2 disposed inside the cover, in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-3 , a mat assembly 100 adapted to be used as a pillow (shown inFIG. 3 ) is shown. The mat assembly 100 includes a yoga mat 102 adapted to be arranged in a straight configuration (shown inFIG. 1 ) and a rolled configuration (shown inFIG. 2 ). In the straight configuration, the mat 102 is arranged flat on a floor or a ground surface to enable a user to perform yoga exercises. The mat 102 is designed to provide additional support and comfort to parts of an exerciser's limbs, such as the hands, wrists, elbows, knees, and feet during an exercise, such as yoga. In an embodiment, the length of the mat 102 may be 165 cm and the breadth of the mat 102 may be 55 cm. - In the rolled configuration, as shown in
FIG. 2 , the mat 102 is spirally wound around a central axis 104 and is arranged in a cylindrical configuration. Further, the mat 102 is made of a flexible material to facilitate a bending or molding of the mat into a desired shape when arranged in the rolled configuration. - Further, as shown in
FIG. 3 , the mat assembly 100 includes a cover 110 having a U shape or a half donut shape for receiving a skull of a reclining user on a support plane, for example, a mattress, and defines a chamber 112 to receive the mat 102 in the rolled configuration. It may be appreciated that the mat 102 is removably inserted inside the cover 110 by suitably bending the mat 102, arranged in the rolled configuration, into a U shape or a half donut shape that corresponds to the shape of the cover 110. It may be envisioned that although the cover 110 having a U shape or half donut shape is shown and contemplated, the cover 110 may include any other suitable shape, known in the art, that a pillow may have to suitably support the head or neck of the user. Accordingly, the mat 102 is also arranged in a shape that corresponds to the shape of the cover 110. - To facilitate the removable insertion of the mat 102 inside cover 110, the cover 110 may define an opening 114 of the chamber 112. Further, to retain the mat 102 inside the cover 110 and prevent an undesired removal of the mat 102 from the chamber 112 through the opening 114, the cover 110 may include a closure 116 to selectively close the opening. In an embodiment, the closure 116 may be a zipper 118. However, the closure 116 may be any other mechanism, such as, but not limited to, buttons, Velcro, or any other suitable closure that can be used to selectively open and close the opening. Furthermore, the cover 110 includes a pair of clips 120, 122 attached at ends of the cover and adapted be engaged with each other using a button mechanism 126 to keep the ends of the cover 110 together. In this manner, turning of two essential travel possessions/items into one is comfortable for a user.
- It should be understood that the foregoing description is only illustrative of the aspects of the disclosed embodiments. Various alternatives and modifications can be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the aspects of the disclosed embodiments.
