Abstract
Description
- This application takes priority from and claims priority to Turkish Patent Application No. 2022/015123 filed on Oct. 3, 2022, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.
- The invention relates to an educational toy, wherein the toy consists of many parts made of plastic, rubber or wood, wherein the toy can create many structures and shapes by combining the parts side by side or on top of each other, etc., wherein the toy can be used in the architectural models, the miniature structures and the prototype designs in various engineering fields, and wherein the toy develops the creativity for the children.
- The children gain many developmental gains by playing with the toys from birth. Their senses are developing with rattles, sound boxes, mobiles, touch pads, balls, blankets; they are able to get to know the world better with their developing senses. The emotional and personality development is supported with the soft toys such as dolls and stuffed toys.
- The household toys, the cars, the toys consisting of various characters develop their imagination and self-expression skills and prepare them for their future social roles. The children gain many notions such as color, number, shape, big-small, long-short by playing with the educational toys such as puzzles, bingo, dominoes, matching cards and memory cards, and develop reasoning, problem solving, and memory retention skills.
- Briefly, all the skills that the children need to acquire during the early childhood years, which cover the first six years of life, can be acquired in a fun and effective way through the toys. The block building toys of the prior art are usually played by intertwining them through a protrusion and a recess.
- In the patent research carried out regarding the state of the art, the document number U.S. Pat. No. 3,005,282A was encountered. The invention which is the subject of the mentioned document relates to the toy building bricks or blocks adapted to connect the toy building element to each other “through the protrusions” in short. It is possible to build certain structures with the lower/upper part combinations of the mentioned toy structures. Since the number of the surfaces that can be connected is limited, it is connective for the structures in the dream of our children with the unlimited imagination. Also this type of game is about to lose its popularity recently, because constantly forming the similar structures seems boring to the children. For this reason, the parts is losing their functionality. In addition, in the mentioned document, the parts can make a male/female connection to each other. There is no apparatus or auxiliary element to provide the female/female connection.
- Consequently, due to the above-mentioned negativities and shortcomings, the need to make an innovation in the relevant technical field has emerged.
- The present invention relates to an educational toy meeting the above-mentioned requirements, eliminating all disadvantages and bringing some additional advantages, wherein the toy consists of many parts made of plastic, rubber or wood, which can create many structures and shapes by combining the parts side by side or on top of each other, etc., wherein the toy can be used in the architectural models, the miniature structures and the prototype designs in various engineering fields, and wherein the toy develops the creativity for the children.
- Considering the state of the art, the object of the invention is to produce block toys that can connect on all surfaces as an alternative to block toys that can make limited connections, thereby increasing the imagination of the children by providing more advanced structures.
- Another object of the invention is to enable the children to play very comfortably without getting bored of the game by enabling the block toys to connect with each other practically on all of their surfaces. This will increase the popularity of the game.
- The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all its advantages will be understood more clearly thanks to the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures, for this reason, the evaluation should be made by considering these figures and detailed explanations.
- The embodiment and the advantages of the present invention with additional components should be evaluated together with the figures described below in order to be best understood.

- In this detailed description, an educational toy of the invention is described only as an example for a better understanding of the subject matter and in such a way that does not create any limiting effect, wherein the toy consists of many parts made of plastic, rubber or wood, wherein the toy can create many structures and shapes by combining the parts side by side or on top of each other, etc., wherein the toy can be used in the prototype designs in the architectural models, the miniature structures and various engineering fields, and wherein the toy develops the creativity for the children.
- The said toy is essentially designed in the shape of a rectangular prism. Rectangular prisms have six surfaces, and in the present technique, the connections can be made with at most two of these surfaces, the lower surface and the upper surface. This situation limits the imagination of the children and it is boring because constantly the similar structures can be created. The toy of the invention consists of at least two parts, a block (A) and an apparatus (B). At least one surface of the block (A) structure in the shape of a rectangular prism comprises the protrusions (A.1.), and all the other surfaces comprise the recesses (A.2.).
- The said apparatus is an auxiliary element for connecting all of the surfaces having the recesses (A2).
- Fig. -1 shows the general view of the toy of the invention. The tab (A.3) on the block (A) is opened diagonally and oppositely with the tabs (B.1.1) on the apparatus (B). Making a practical connection is important for children to be able to disassemble it easily without any effort when creating a structure with the toys or when they want to reconstruct the structure by destroying it.
- Otherwise, the children will get bored with the toys and want to turn to the alternative entertainment.
- The apparatus (B) is essentially a uniform connection element comprising two members. The perforated cylindrical prism (B.1) of the apparatus (B) is fitted into the recess (A.2) on the surface of the block (A). As shown in Fig. -2, four perforated cylindrical prisms (B.1) have been assembled by means of a connecting rod (B.2) to form a uniform member, and there is a tab (B.1.1) at the ends of the perforated cylindrical prisms (B.1).
- These tabs are made to give strength to the structure in terms of robustness after the perforated cylinder prism (B.1) is fitted into the recess (A.2) on the surface of the block (A). The number of the connecting rods (B.2) plays an important role in the shape of the apparatus, when the number or the length of the connecting rod (B.2) is increased/decreased, the shape of the apparatus (B) turns into the different geometric shapes such as triangle, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon, which is important for the strength of the connection. However, in the presence of the toy of the invention, it is apparent that the configurations that will be introduced by increasing/decreasing the number or the length of the connecting rod (B.2) will not be new and will not include an inventive step.
- It is possible to make the perforated cylindrical prism (B.1) of the similarly shaped apparatus (B) in the different geometric shapes. The shape of the perforated cylindrical prism (B.1) fits into the recesses (A.2) on the block (A), therefore, it is sufficient that the shape of the perforated cylindrical prism (B.1) has the same geometric shape as the recesses (A.2) on the block (A). In the presence of the toy of the invention, it is apparent that the structures that will be made by using the shape of the perforated cylindrical prism (B.1) in the different geometric shapes such as triangle, rectangle, pentagon, and hexagon will not be new and will not include an inventive step.
- The product of the invention can be used in the architectural models, the miniature structures and the prototype designs in various engineering fields, thanks to its advantages. Therefore, it is apparent that such structures will lack the criteria of innovation and of overcoming the state of the art, especially in the presence of our application.
- The scope of protection of this application has been determined in the claims section and cannot be limited to the those described above for exemplary purposes. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can demonstrate the innovation set out in the invention by using similar embodiments and/or can apply this embodiment to other similar purposes used in the related art. Therefore, it is apparent that such structures will lack the criteria of innovation and of overcoming the state of the art, especially in the presence of our application.
