Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to wine glasses, and more particularly, to a multifunctional wine glass containing multiple combination forms for facilitating different functions.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Wine glass is one of the most important utensils for drinking. Different wine glasses are needed for drinking different type of wines, such as goblets and stemless wine glasses, or champagne glasses, standard wine glasses, and Burgundy glasses having different shape of glass bodies.
  • Furthermore, before drinking red wine, a step of “decanting” is usually carried out, which means making the wine contact with the air to cause oxidation of the wine. One of the effects of decanting is to reduce the astringency sensation of tannins, whereby the taste of the wine becomes more smooth and softer, and the aroma of the wine is spread more evenly.
  • The motion of “wine glass shaking” is a common way of decanting the wine. The standard way of wine glass shaking is to firstly place the wine glass on the table, and then hold the glass stem with the thumb and forefinger, so as to shake the wine glass by circling it on the table. However, for an unskilled novice of drinking, the wine is often spilled out during the decanting process. Therefore, a wine glass for the user to easily shake for decanting the wine is desirable.
  • Also, general wine glasses are integrally formed of glass material, which require extra protection and safe storage for facilitating the portability and mobility thereof. Therefore, a considerable volume for carriage is needed, so that design facilitating the portability and mobility of the wine glass is desirable as well.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • To improve the issues above, a multifunctional wine glass is disclosed, which is allowed to be assembled into different forms according to the demand of the user for selective usage of wine glasses with long or short length of the glass stem. Also, the multifunctional wine glass facilitates the glass shaking process for decanting the wine and is easily disassembled for facilitating the portability and mobility.
  • For achieving the aforementioned objectives, a multifunctional wine glass in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention is provided, comprising: a glass body having a containing space, with a glass opening formed on one end and a glass body connecting seat disposed on another end of the glass body; a glass stem formed in a rod shape, the glass stem having one end movably connected with the glass body connecting seat; a glass base connecting seat having a first connecting end and a second connecting end, the first connecting end movably connected with another end of the body stem in opposite to the end connected with the glass body connecting seat; and a glass base having an arc face and a flat face disposed on two opposite sides thereof, the glass base comprising a connecting bore to which the second connecting end is movably connected. With the connecting bore, the glass base is selectively disposed for the arc face or the flat face to face the glass body.
  • Regarding the multifunctional wine glass of the present invention, when the glass body, the glass body connecting seat, the glass stem, and the glass base connecting seat are orderly combined, with the flat face of the glass base facing the glass body and the arc face contacting a plane such as a tabletop, the user is allowed to shake the wine glass through the arc face for decanting wine. Alternatively, when the arc face is arranged to face the glass body, the present invention serves as an ordinary goblet, such that the flat face of the glass base contacts the tabletop to steadily stand thereon. Also, the user is able to orderly combine the glass body, the glass body connecting seat, the glass base connecting seat, and the glass base, such that the present invention serves as a stemless wine glass.
  • Furthermore, when the present invention is to be stored, the glass body connecting seat and the glass stem are able to be disassembled, so that the glass body is reversely placed on the glass base, with the glass stem and the glass base connecting seat placed into the containing space for significantly reducing the storage volume, wherein the glass body provides protection to the fragile glass stem.

Another end of the glass body 10 is provided with a glass body connecting seat 13, and the glass body connecting seat 13 concavely comprises a combining bore 14. Therein, the glass body connecting seat 13 and the glass body 10 are allowed to be integrally formed or respectively formed and then combined or attached.
  • The glass stem 20 is formed in a rod shape and comprises a combining end 21 on one end thereof corresponding to the combining bore 14, so as to be movably connected with the glass body connecting seat 13. Therein, the combining bore 14 is allowed to be a thread bore, and the combining end 21 comprises a corresponding thread. Alternatively, in other embodiments, the combining end 21 is allowed to be a bolt for being movably combined with the combining bore 14. Also, the glass stem 20 comprises a fixing bore 22 concavely formed on another end in opposite to the combining end 21.
  • The glass base connecting seat 30 comprises a first connecting end 31 and a second connecting end 32. The first connecting end 31 is movably connected with the fixing bore 22 of the glass stem 20. Therein, the fixing bore 22 is a thread bore, and the first connecting end 31 comprises a corresponding thread. Alternatively, in other embodiments, the first connecting end 31 is a bolt for being movably connected with the fixing bore 22.
  • The glass base 40 comprises an arc face 41 and a flat face 42, wherein the arc face 41 and the flat face 42 are disposed on two opposite sides of the glass base 40. The glass base 40 comprises a connecting bore 43 movably connected with the second connecting end 32. With the connecting bore 43, the glass base 40 is selectively disposed in an arrangement for the arc face 41 to face the glass body 10 (as shown in FIG. 3 ) or for the flat face 42 to face the glass body 10 (as shown in FIG. 4 ). Therein, the connecting bore 43 is a thread bore, and the second connecting end 32 comprises a corresponding thread. Alternatively, in other embodiments, the second connecting end 32 is a bolt for being movably connected with the connecting bore 43.
  • Further the glass body 10, the glass stem 20, and the glass base 40 are allowed to be formed of at least one material of glass, metal, jade, resin, wood, and ceramics.
  • Referring to FIG. 3 , in use of the present invention, the glass body 10, the glass body connecting seat 13, the glass stem 20, and the glass base connecting seat 30 are orderly combined, and the glass base 40 is disposed in an arrangement in which the arc face 41 faces the glass body 10, whereby the flat face 42 of the glass base 40 is able to be placed on, for example, a tabletop, such that the present invention serves as an ordinary goblet.
  • Referring to FIG. 4 , alternatively, the glass base 40 is disposed in an arrangement in which the flat face 42 faces the glass body 10, whereby the arc face 41 of the glass base 40 contacts the tabletop. When the present invention is placed on the tabletop, the user is able to hold the glass stem 20 or press the glass base 40 with a palm, so as to impose a light force on the glass base 40 and circle the glass base 40 on the tabletop through the arc face 41 (as shown by FIG. 5 ) to shake the wine glass for decanting the wine therein easily.
