The firearm attachment assembly further comprising a second attachment means attached vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the houssing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.

Description

    BACKGROUND Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to firearms, and more particularly towards a firearm attachment assembly and method for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point.
  • Description of Related Art
  • Hunting, sporting competition, law enforcement, and military activities are all examples of where firearms are used. Various techniques and equipment have been created over time to assist a person in correctly aiming a firearm including a rifle, pistol, or other portable guns. The user's problem has always been to accurately aim the weapon so that it hits the target. To that aim, a variety of sights have been devised to aid the operator in properly aligning the weapon before firing it.
  • Traditional firearm attachments alter the pistol's mechanics or necessitate a significantly different way of firearm handling.
  • There is a constant need for advancements in firearm attachment assembly for aiming with one's natural ability to point to shoot firearms in a regulated and safe manner that does not jeopardize the operator's safety or the firearm's accuracy.
  • Further, modifications to the firearm and shooting position are minimized in the current invention.
  • In addition, the firearm must sustain members without snagging objects while the user moves quickly over congested terrain and/or in close-quarters combat circumstances.
  • SUMMARY
  • Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide a firearm attachment assembly attached to a firearm for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point. The firearm attachment assembly includes a first attachment means coupled with a barrel housing of the firearm, including the plurality of slot arrangement. The first attachment means being placed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means while firing, depending on the type of firearm used. The firearm attachment assembly also includes a second attachment means attached vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide firearm supporting members for aiming a firearm (rifle, pistol, shotgun, etc.) using one's natural ability to point. The firearm supporting members include a first supporting member adapted to be removably coupled with a barrel housing of the firearm with a KeyMod or a modular lock (M-lok) arrangement. The first supporting member is disposed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first supporting member while firing, depending on the type of firearm used. The firearm supporting members include a second supporting member adapted to be detachably attached to a device of the firearm adapted to be grasped by a user's hand or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide a method for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point. The method including attaching a first attachment means to a barrel housing of the firearm, including a plurality of slot arrangement. The method further comprising placing the first attachment means parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means while firing, depending on the type of firearm used. The method also includes coupling a second attachment means vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • In one embodiment of the present invention, the plurality of slot arrangement comprises a KeyMod arrangement, a modular lock (M-Lok) arrangement, and so forth.
  • The current innovation permits a shooter to either acquire muscle memory faster or have the assurance of being in line with the barrel.
  • These and other advantages will be apparent from the present application of the embodiments described herein.

  • In any embodiment described herein, the open-ended terms “comprising,” “comprises,” and the like (which are synonymous with “including,” “having” and “characterized by”) may be replaced by the respective partially closed phrases “consisting essentially of,” consists essentially of,” and the like or the respective closed phrases “consisting of,” “consists of, the like.
  • As used herein, the singular forms “a”, “an”, and “the” designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
  • FIG. 1A illustrates a perspective view of a first attachment means 102 of the firearm attachment assembly 100, according to embodiments of the present invention. The firearm attachment assembly 100 comprises the first attachment means 102 (also known as first support member 102). The first attachment means 102 may be coupled with a barrel housing 110 of the firearm including the plurality of slot arrangement 106, 108. The plurality of slot arrangement 106, 108 may comprise a KeyMod arrangement 106, a modular lock (M-Lok) arrangement 108, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the slot arrangement 106, 108, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
  • In addition, as shown in FIG. 5A, the KeyMod arrangement 106 may be constructed to allow accessories or attachments such as a first attachment means, a second attachment means, or both to be placed directly onto the barrel housing. The mounting slots in the KeyMod arrangement 106 may have a key-hole profile, making it a modular approach. The KeyMod slot and the KeyMod nut are two parts of the KeyMod arrangement 106. The accessory's backer nut may be inserted into the KeyMod arrangement 106's bigger hole, then slid forward into the KeyMod arrangement 106's narrow part. To keep the item in place, screw it in to create tension.
  • As seen particularly in FIG. 1B, the second attachment means 104 may have a semicircle shape with a rectangular cutout mounted on a T-nut.
  • Referring to FIG. 1B illustrating a perspective view of a second attachment means or a second attachment member, according to embodiments of the present invention, and FIG. 1C illustrating a perspective view of the second attachment means or the second attachment member, the M-LOK arrangement 108, like the KeyMod arrangement 106, may provide for direct accessory connection, such as the attachment of a second attachment means 108, according to implementations of the present invention (also referred to as the second support member 108). In that both involve locking a nut into a slot in the housing of the barrel 110, the M-LOK arrangement 108 may be similar to the KeyMod arrangement technique. The M-LOK arrangement 108 may use a rectangular T-Nut and a rectangular slot in a preferred form of the present invention, as seen in FIG. 5B and FIG. 5C.
  • T-Nuts may be positioned in slots of M-LOK arrangement 108 to mount an M-LOK accessory. If the bottom of the accessory is elated with the mounting surface, it has been properly positioned in the slot. To lock the T-Nut into the locked position, rotate screw 90 degrees with a hex wrench. Tighten the screw to the proper torque specifications.
  • FIG. 1D illustrates a top down view of the first attachment means 102 (or the first attachment member 102), according to embodiments of the present invention. The first attachment means 102 may be detachably attached to the barrel housing 110 of the firearm.
  • FIG. 2A illustrates a perspective view of the first attachment means 102 or the first attachment member 102 on a device or a grip of a firearm while holding for stability, according to embodiments of the present invention. The first attachment means 102 may have a shape of a rectangle with a concave and a convex side. FIG. 2B illustrates a perspective view of the placement of index finger on the first attachment means or the first attachment member on the device or the grip of the firearm while holding for stability, according to embodiments of the present invention.
  • The first attachment means 102 may be placed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing 110 at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means 102 while firing, depending on the type of firearm used. According to embodiments of the present invention, the type of firearm comprises a pistol, a rifle, an AR15, a shotgun, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the firearm including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
  • FIG. 3A illustrates a perspective view of the first attachment means 102 (or hereinafter also referred as the first attachment member 102) on the device or the grip of the firearm when the thumb is on a trigger of the firearm, according to embodiments of the present invention. While holding the trigger, the user may steady the flow of freedom by pointing the thumb of the supporting hand in the proper direction.
  • FIG. 3B illustrates a perspective view of the placement of index finger on the first attachment means 102 or the first attachment member 102 on the device or the grip of the firearm when the thumb is on a trigger of the firearm, according to embodiments of the present invention. When the user is going to shoot, the user stabilizes the position by extending the index finger on the first attachment means 102.
  • FIG. 4A illustrates a perspective view of a shotgun with the second attachment means 104 or the second attachment member 104 at bottom of the device or the grip of the firearm, according to embodiments of the present invention. The second attachment means 104 may be attached vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel 110 to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel 110 and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • In an exemplary scenario, the second supporting member 104 may be adapted to be detachably attached to a device of the firearm adapted to be grasped by a user's hand or integrally including the KeyMod 106 or the modular lock (M-lok) arrangement 108 (or groove) in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • The second supporting member 104 may have a semicircle shape with a rectangular cutout mounted on a T-nut. In an embodiment of the present invention, the device of the firearm may be a handle grip adapted to be grasped by a user's hand. Further, the housing of the barrel 110 may have pre-formed KeyMod 106 or the modular lock (M-lok) arrangement 108 (or groove) depending on the type of arrangement.
  • The T-nut of the second attachment member 104 may be inserted into the KeyMod 106 or the modular lock (M-lok) arrangement 108 and secured by a securing means. The securing means may comprise a screw.
  • Referring to FIG. 4B illustrating a perspective view of a shotgun shooter using their index fingers with the second attachment means 104 or the second attachment member 104 placed at bottom of the device or the grip of the firearm, according to embodiments of the present invention.
  • The second attachment means 104 being the index finger rest may be configured to stabilize a user's index finger in a partially extended condition so that in use the user's trigger finger stretches in front of the trigger. The user's remaining fingers clasp the handle, with the index finger rest and the handle locked together as a unit. FIG. 4B illustrates ensuring pointing which is actually aligned with the barrel of the firearm.
  • Referring to FIG. 5B, a sectional view of the first attachment means or the first attachment member coupled to the housing of the barrel of AR15 rifle, according to embodiments of the present invention. The second attachment means 104 that may be a modular lock (M-Lock) arrangement 108 may use a T-nut which is aligned to the slot behind a screw, as seen FIG. 5C. Further, the T-nut rotates 90 degrees automatically and be locked on the slot (groove) of the barrel housing 110. The second attachment means 104 may be detachably attached to bottom of the barrel housing 110 of the firearm.
  • FIG. 6A a perspective view of the AR15 rifle with the first attachment means located in the device or grip component placed for stability, according to embodiments of the present invention. The first supporting member 102 may be adapted to be removably coupled with the barrel housing 110 of the firearm with a KeyMod arrangement 106 or a modular lock (M-lok) arrangement 108. Further, the first supporting member 102 may be disposed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing 110 at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first supporting member 102 while firing, depending on the type of firearm used.
  • FIG. 6B illustrates a perspective view of the placement of the index finger of the supporting hand on the AR15 rifle with the first attachment means 102 located in the device or grip component placed for stability, according to embodiments of the present invention. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first supporting member 102 may have a shape of a rectangle with a concave and a convex side. Further, FIGS. 6A and 6B depicts ways of holding an AR15 rifle and adding first attachment means 102 to allow the shooter to use their index finger to aim.
  • In reference to FIG. 7A, a groove 702 is integrally made in line with the barrel to allow the index finger of the supporting hand to align with the barrel. In the reference to FIG. 7B, a groove 704 is made internally or as a detachable member attached to a device of the firearm adapted to be grasped by a user's hand. In the embodiment, the integral groove 702 position may be variable in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • FIG. 8 illustrates a flowchart of a method 800 for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point, according to embodiments of the present invention.
  • At 802, the first attachment means 102 may be attached to the barrel housing 110 of the firearm, including a plurality of slot arrangement 106, 108.
  • At 804, the first attachment means 102 may be placed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing 110 at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means while firing, depending on the type of firearm used.
  • At 806, the second attachment means 104 may be coupled vertically to the device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
  • While the invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be the most practical and various embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not to be limited to the disclosed embodiments, but on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
  • This written description uses examples to disclose the invention, including the best mode, and also to enable any person skilled in the art to practice the invention, including making and using any devices, means, assembly or members and performing any incorporated methods. The patentable scope the invention is defined in the claims, and may include other examples that occur to those skilled in the art. Such other examples are intended to be within the scope of the claims if they have structural elements that do not differ from the literal language of the claims, or if they include equivalent structural elements within substantial differences from the literal languages of the claims.

Claims (20)

What is claimed:
1. A firearm attachment assembly attached to a firearm for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point, the firearm attachment assembly comprising:
a first attachment means coupled with a barrel housing of the firearm, including the plurality of slot arrangement, the first attachment means being placed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means while firing, depending on the type of firearm used; and
a second attachment means attached vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
2. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the second attachment means being the index finger rest is configured to stabilize a user's index finger in a partially extended condition so that in use the user's trigger finger stretches in front of the trigger.
3. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 2, wherein the user's remaining fingers clasp the handle, with the index finger rest and the handle locked together as a unit.
4. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the plurality of slot arrangement comprises a KeyMod arrangement, a modular lock (M-Lok) arrangement, and/or any foregoing combination.
5. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 4, wherein the modular lock (M-Lock) arrangement uses a T-nut which is aligned to the slot behind a screw.
6. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 5, wherein the T-nut rotates 90 degrees automatically and be locked on the slot of the barrel housing.
7. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the first attachment means is detachably attached to the barrel housing of the firearm.
8. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the second attachment is detachably attached to bottom of the barrel housing of the firearm.
9. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the type of firearm comprises a pistol, a rifle, an AR15, a shotgun, or any foregoing combination.
10. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the first attachment means have a shape of a rectangle with a concave and a convex side.
11. The firearm attachment assembly of claim 1, wherein the second attachment means have a semicircle shape with a rectangular cutout mounted on a T-nut.
12. A firearm supporting members for aiming a firearm (rifle, pistol, shotgun, etc.) using one's natural ability to point, the firearm supporting members comprising:
a first supporting member adapted to be removably coupled with a barrel housing of the firearm with a KeyMod or a modular lock (M-lok) arrangement, the first supporting member is disposed parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first supporting member while firing, depending on the type of firearm used; and
a second supporting member adapted to be detachably attached to a device of the firearm adapted to be grasped by a user's hand or integrally including the KeyMod or the modular lock (M-lok) arrangement, in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
13. The firearm supporting members of claim 12, wherein the first supporting member have a shape of a rectangle with a concave and a convex side.
14. The firearm supporting members of claim 12, wherein the second supporting member have a semicircle shape with a rectangular cutout mounted on a T-nut.
15. The firearm supporting members of claim 14, wherein the T-nut of the second attachment member is inserted into the KeyMod or the modular lock (M-lok) arrangement and secured by a securing means.
16. The firearm supporting members of claim 15, wherein the securing means comprises a screw.
17. The firearm supporting members of claim 12, wherein the device of the firearm is a handle grip adapted to be grasped by a user's hand.
18. The firearm supporting members of claim 12, wherein the housing of the barrel integrally has pre-formed groove depending on the type of arrangement.
19. A method for aiming the firearm using one's natural ability to point, the method comprising:
attaching a first attachment means to a barrel housing of the firearm, including a plurality of slot arrangement;
placing the first attachment means parallel to the outer surface of the barrel housing at any user required points for permitting a user's supporting hand's index finger or thumb access to the first attachment means while firing, depending on the type of firearm used; and
coupling a second attachment means vertically to a device of the firearm or integrally including a groove in line with the housing of the barrel to allow the index finger or the remaining fingers of the supporting hand to align with the housing of the barrel and follow the bullet's trajectory depending on the type of the firearm utilized.
20. The method of claim 19, wherein the plurality of slot arrangement comprises a KeyMod, a modular lock (M-Lok), and/or any foregoing combination.
